Kpopmap Fan Interview: An Indonesian ALICE Talks About His Favorite Group VICTON & His Biases 2CHAN, ByungChan & Chan

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other' stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello Kpopmap Readers, my name is Kiky (@BYFNGCHAN) and I’m an ALICE from Bandung, West Java Indonesia.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

It's start from 2016, I know them from my friend because at that time I was playing on Twitter and had an account as a roleplayer / parody back then so I try to know them well with searching and watch their show on YouTube.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

Because VICTON has everything I need, visual, talents, and also they are so entertaining to me.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

Choi ByungChan, because he is the handsome and cute one I think at first, his charms and his skill about girl group is no joke that’s why I love him.

Who is your bias, and why?

Currently I stan 2CHAN, my ultimate bias is ByungChan but I starting like and have interest to Chan because their chemistry is really great and also they are a roommate now, and I thought Chan is handsome and calm while ByungChan is the opposite (I mean he is cute and very loud).

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

For the new ALICE, I recommend you their last track called 'Chronograph', and for the B-Side track I recommend '#Begin Again (Victon ver.)' it's so calming in my opinion.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I recommend anything from their official YouTube channel.

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

I recommend you to watch them from their first show called “Me and 7 Men” on YouTube, it's really fun.

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

"I wanna be with you again” - '#Begin Again' by VICTON.

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

They influence me for not giving up about what I did and love myself better. Also their songs make me more alive and they are the reason why I smile.

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

I can enjoy and be happy for what I did.

What is your best souvenir with your favorite group until now?

My best thing what I had about VICTON is an album, it’s a "Mayday" Album (Venez ver. And M’Aider ver) also a Photocard of ByungChan and Chan Set actually.

Can you recommend words from your bias to new fans who don't know yet about it?

Mmm… it's kind of hard but you should watch "Produce X 101" that ByungChan joined. There is so many words from him which inspiring or funny (as a meme).

Can you describe your bias in only one word?

Meme (Because I think ByungChan is a meme person).

Can you share a fun episode that only fans from your fandom know to readers?

There is many fun episode or moment to watch about VICTON, but I really recommended you to watching "Let’s Victon" in YouTube. Or other show about VICTON.

If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them?

I will cook Mie Goreng and Nasi Goreng for them and I think they will like it.

If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do?

To a theme land or some place like Namsan Tower or Jeju Island maybe.

What's your favourite 2022 moment involving your bias?

The biggest moment of ByungChan is when I can finally see him in drama called "A Bussines Proposal" and him playing as Shin HaMin. Also I can see updates about VICTON when they went to Thailand for fanmeeting.

Do you have a dream subunit/unit? (It can be with a fellow member or another K-Pop idol)

Yes, I wish there is a unit special like 97z and the member is a idol who born in 97 and ByungChan also HanSe participate on it.

Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your bias on? Tell us why.

I would like to see VICTON in "Journey to the West", I think it will be fun.

What is your favourite way of communicating with your bias?

Through their live such as V LIVE or Instagram comment, also through Bubble.

What do you have in common with your favourite idol?

We both love dancing to girl group songs and taking many selfies. (ByungChan).

Is your bias different while performing and in real life? What is your reaction to the difference (if there's any)?

Yes I think it's totally different when ByungChan act in stage and in drama or variety show hahaha and my reaction is cool with it maybe I’m happy because ByungChan can being himself in the show.

If you could write a book about your bias, what would the first and last lines be?

It will start with Us and the last word will be Us too.

Have you ever made a new friend because of K-Pop?

Yes totally, because K-Pop I can meet many friends who have the same favourite thing as me and also I can make a new friends through Twitter especially.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

Hm I just feel VICTON should be more popular than now, because VICTON has everything they are cute, funny, cool and has many talents and the member is can do acting and play in drama too, so please look forward for them well.

First of all, My name is Kiky, and I'm from Indonesia. I started having interest on you since you predebut, I love how you guys being close together and I really feel like I have real siblings.
