Jeju is definitely one of the most memorable places in Korea and it’s impossible to miss out on it. The island is full of natural beauty - hills, flowers, wild horses, and beaches and it also offers many unique bohemian-styled cafes.

While the bustling city of Seoul might be the heart of Korea, Jeju on the other hand is an ultimate vacation location, where you can fill your heart with peace, surrounded by the most romantic Korean scenery.

Surely, you have seen a lot of photos of your favorite Korean idols and creators frequently traveling to the island. Even if you might not be able to experience it yourself, don’t worry - we prepared a list of iconic K-Dramas through which you can admire the beauty of Korea’s most popular island.

 

1. “Our Blues”

You would have to be living under a rock to not have heard “Our Blues” yet. The drama is a 2022 hit, including some of the most respected Korean actors, and an iconic OST song "With You" sang by BTS’ JiMin and Ha SungWoon, which has been topping the global charts.

“Our Blues” shows the lives of various characters living on Jeju Island. It is a sweet-bitter drama about the ups and downs that life throws at them. Each person has their own unique story, some have lived on the island their whole life, and the others came there to seek safe haven.

The main scene of “Our Blues” is Jeju, so if you’re looking for a drama that will fill you up with the Jeju content, this one is a perfect choice. The wonderful, peaceful ocean scenery matches well with the realistic and touching storyline - no wonder the drama has been on top of the recent K-Drama ratings!

 

2. “Something In The Rain”

“Something In The Rain” tells a story of a romance between Yoon JinA (Son YeJin) and her younger brother’s best friend Seo JoonHee (Jung HaeIn). Unfortunately, their relationship isn’t approved by family and friends because of a significant age gap. Despite the difficulties they face, the couple doesn’t give up on their love.

The drama accurately depicts common problems experienced in Korea due to the importance of public opinion and social norms. It’s a perfect slow-burn romance for cozy nights that does not idealize the idea of love but displays its various forms.

Even though most of the drama takes place in the Gyeonggi Province, the finale of the series, shot in Jeju, strongly burns into my memory. Son YeJin and Jung HaeIn in a romantic Jeju scene - could we wish for anything more wholesome?

 

3. “Love Alarm”

“Love Alarm” is a story about the teenage love and struggles of young people. In the world of drama, people connect with each other thanks to an app called “Joalarm”, which alerts you in case someone within a distance of 10 meters is interested in you. The main characters Kim JoJo (Kim SoHyun), Hwang SunOh (Song Kang), and Lee HyeYoung (Jung GaRam) attend the same school. They live quite different lives, but each of them experiences some personal problems. Both of the boys fall in love with JoJo - the question is whether the girl will trust her heart or the app’s algorithm.

Have you heard about the canella flowers? They are beautiful pink flowers that bloom during winter. In “Love Alarm” JoJo and SunOh go together to a Jeju Camellia Arboretum on their school trip - a garden filled with camellia flowers. The scene brings a special meaning to their story because the meaning of camellia flowers is “I love you only”.

The romantic garden makes us immersed in the love of the main characters and prove that Jeju is perfect also as a winter travel destination.

 

4. “Crash Landing On You”

“Crash Landing On You” is probably the most recognized Korean drama, thanks to its iconic cast and storyline. The main character - Yoon Seri (Son YeJin) - is an heiress to a famous conglomerate. While parachuting she encounters an unexpected storm and accidentally ends up on the North Korean land. She is found by a military officer Ri Jeong Hyeok (Hyun Bin), who decides to help her. The journey back home isn’t easy and there are reasons, which make women wonder whether South Korea is where she actually belongs.

Did you expect “Crash Landing On You” on our list? Even though Jeju might not be the first place that comes to mind, thinking about this iconic drama, the series shows a different side of the island’s landscape. The forest at the North Korean border Yoon SeRi accidentally lands is actually Hallasan National Park located on Jeju Island.

While the ocean and beaches are the most common view of Jeju, forests are also its special charm. We wish we could accidentally parachute to Jeju!

 

5. “When I Was The Most Beautiful”

The drama revolves around Oh YeJi (Im SooHyang) - a student, who dreams of becoming a real artist. She moves to Yangpyeong, where she starts to teach art at a local school. She meets two brothers - Seo Hwan (Ji Soo) and Seo Jin (Ha SeokJin) with whom she ends up in a love triangle. The three of them experience a lot of pain and hard times as they need to figure out what their hearts really long for and eventually find happiness.

“When I Was The Most Beautiful” is filled with plenty of scenes of the island. If you wish to see what a picture-perfect Jeju honeymoon looks like, you should definitely see this K-Drama!

 

6. "More Than Friends”

“More Than Friends” is an adorable friends-to-lovers K-Drama. The main characters - Kyung WooYeon (Shin YeEun) and Lee Soo (Ong SeongWu) - have been friends for 10 years. Eventually, the girl starts having feelings for her friend. After suffering for a long time because of her one-sided crush, things take an unexpected turn. The question is whether they will build up the courage, to be honest with each other.

“More Than Friends” shows us Jeju’s effortless beauty. Restaurants, cafes, little shops, ocean views, and green meadows make you unable to take your eyes off your screen. No need for more words - the drama is a must-watch!

 

7. “Warm And Cozy”

Lee JungJoo (Kang SoRa) and Baek GunWoo (Yoo YeonSeok) are the complete opposites of each other - she is a hard-working girl who experiences many struggles, and he, on the other hand, comes from a wealthy family and doesn’t take life seriously. Coincidentally, after their first meeting in Seoul, they meet again on Jeju Island. All of the sudden, the woman’s life turns upside down, so she decided to start anew on Jeju, where GunWoo runs a restaurant called “Warm And Cozy”. JungJoo and GunWoo spend a lot of time together, getting to know each other and eventually falling in love.

Jeju Island - is there any better place to start your life again? The cinematography of the drama proves that the island has a special healing ability and perfectly depicts the series’ title. The drama is one of the classics you can’t miss out on!

 

8. “Doom At Your Service”

Afterlife and the real-world encounter each other when Tak DongKyung (Park BoYoung) and Myul Mang (Seo InGuk) create an unusual kind of contract between human-embodied destruction and a woman who has only 100 days left to live. Despite the dark situation in which the characters meet, they become kindred spirits. Myul Mang decides to help the young web editor leave the world painlessly and complete her last wish. In spite of his generally indifferent feelings towards humans, his duty starts to clash with his personal feelings.

“Doom At Your Service” allows us to join Park BoYoung and Seo InGuk on a romantic date on Korea’s most famous island. Calm walks + ocean-view cafes = date goals that only happen in Jeju!
