aespa's NingNing might be the maknae of the girl group, however, she constantly showcases her abundance of talent and skill. In every performance, she confidently glides across the stage, showing mastery over her movements, right down to the smallest detail. Although the rest of aespa are standout performers in their own right, NingNing has a unique quality that draws you in.
Performance capabilities aside, NingNing is also known to be an outstanding vocalist. When she grabs hold of the microphone, you can expect to be swayed by her alluring voice, causing hearts to form in the center of your eyes. From impactful high notes to soft and sincere whispers, NingNing proves to be in the running for one of the best female vocalists of her generation.
Here are but a few vocal performances where the idol has left us speechless.
1. Lighthearted 'Maria' Cover
This cover will both impress and make you laugh at the same time. Due to a game they were playing on JTBC's "Knowing Bros", NingNing forces an uncharacteristic voice crack, drawing strong reactions from everyone in the room. However, in her second attempt, the idol belts out notes that are crisp, clear, and may even provide clear skin the more you listen.
2. Happy-Go-Lucky Duet With Park Won
Together with talented vocalist Park Won, NingNing performs a joyful cover of 'Lucky' on "Begin Again Open Mic". Their voices combined create a lovely harmony that brings out feelings of romance from the very depths of your soul. Their rendition would make the perfect background music to a wonderful afternoon date at your local park.
3. Soulful Performance Of 'If I Ain't Got You'
Once again, through JTBC's "Knowing Bros", NingNing blows audiences away with her vocal prowess. Her voice is crystal clear and does well to pluck on every heartstring in your body. As you listen to her rendition of 'If I Ain't Got You', you might find yourself floating away above the clouds. There's certainly something magical about NingNing's voice that's apparent whenever she sings.
4. 'Something Like That' On it's Live
For many idols, it's Live is a YouTube channel where they can showcase their raw vocal power with the backup of a live band. NingNing does not disappoint with this live band performance of 'Something Like That'. Although she doesn't have her members beside her, NingNing is able to brightly shine a fierce and passionate light. Heading into the climax, don't be surprised if you find your jaw dropped down to the floor from her explosive high note.
5. "The Next Stage 2023" Performance
Outside of Korean entertainment, NingNing recently made her debut as a mentor on Tencent audition program, "The Next Stage 2023" in China. While she's primarily there to guide the contestants, she also receives the opportunity to put on captivating performances that take the internet by storm. Her performance of 'Melody' is spellbinding, showing how her voice has matured into what it is today. She brings audiences on a fairytale-esque story that you will want to revisit a million times over.
