Starship Entertainment / Big Hit Entertainment / SM Entertainment

K-Pop idols are known for their jaw dropping visuals, knife-like choreography, and incredible stage presence. But off the stage and behind the camera, they’re regular people just like the rest of us. Some can be found exercising at the gym, others hang out with their friends, and a few can spend hours playing their favorite video game.

It’s no surprise that idols have turned to gaming in their downtime, as Korea is known for its gaming subculture and as one of the leaders in various esports—League of Legends and Starcraft, just to name a few. With that being said, here is a list of idols who are known to be gamers.

        1. BTS’ JungKook

In a previous interview with Yahoo Esports, JungKook was very vocal about his love for the game Overwatch. He took it a step further and posted highlight videos of his plays on both McCree and Widowmaker on the official BTS Twitter. Now, if that doesn’t prove his love for the game, then I don’t know what will!

        2. Park JiHoon

Park JiHoon is a huge fan of gaming. Through a guest appearance on Cult Two Show, he revealed that if a schedule lasts longer than one day and two nights, he brings along his gaming laptop. And not only does JiHoon play together with friends, but he has also played video games with his fans. Who wouldn’t want to game with their favorite idol?

        3. LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura

Even prior to her redebut in LE SSERAFIM, Sakura was a well-known gamer. She would live stream and upload videos onto her YouTube. The list of games she’s played includes Fortnite, Splatoon 2, Apex Legends, and more. When you watch her gaming content, you can really see her love for games!

        4. APink’s Oh HaYoung

Not only is she the maknae of APink, but she’s the group’s resident gamer, too! HaYoung has shown off her gaming prowess through games such as PUBG, Overwatch, and Sudden Attack. Not only has she been invited as a guest for various gaming variety shows, but she also uploads gaming content (along with vlogs, lifestyle, etc.) onto her YouTube. HaYoung is truly a multi-talented queen!

        5. MONSTA X’s MinHyuk

MinHyuk has been very vocal about his love for gaming—in particular, he enjoys FPS games the most. He has played Sudden Attack, Counter-Strike, and A.V.A (Alliance of Valiant Arms). His members, JooHoney and HyungWon have even shared on Idol Radio that MinHyuk can often be found in his room gaming until 4 or 5 o’clock in the morning. MinHyuk definitely deserves the title of a hardcore gamer!

        6. Jae

When he’s not blessing us with his sweet vocals, Jae can be found streaming on Twitch! With his fans and connections to well-established streamers behind him, Jae broke out onto the streaming platform immediately. He plays a variety of games, ranging from Valorant, League of Legends, and most recently Call of Duty: Warzone, just to name a few. No matter what game he plays, he makes sure to keep up with chat and interact with his viewers as much as possible.

        7. EXO’s BaekHyun

It’s common knowledge among EXO-Ls that BaekHyun is a huge fan of gaming. BaekHyun is such a hardcore gamer that he even has a separate suitcase for his laptop and peripherals for any schedules outside of Korea. Although he plays a variety of games, his favorite is League of Legends and he is a fan of Faker, pro player for SKT. BaekHyun has even collaborated with Faker on content for VR gaming. Now that’s what you call a successful fanboy!

        8. TWICE’s Mina

Mina’s love for gaming started well before her time as a world-renowned idol. She revealed that during her childhood in Japan, she enjoyed Bandai’s Tamagotchi, a handheld, egg-shaped pet simulator and Mario Kart on the Nintendo DS. Since then, Mina has branched out to Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and a variety of mobile games. She even bought a gaming PC, along with peripherals, to play even more video games.

        9. fromis_9’s Lee NaGyung

On stage, NaGyung stuns fans with her overflowing beauty and sweetness. In game, however, she is filled with surprising determination to win. Flovers know just how much NaGyung loves to game and that she likes to play Hanzo on Overwatch. She has also revealed that she would often visit PC cafes with her member, JiWon. It would be a dream come true to game next to NaGyung!

        10. Stray Kids’ Felix

Felix can easily make anyone melt while rapping in his charismatic voice, but he becomes an excited little kid when talking about games. And really, who wouldn’t be giddy talking about something they enjoy? Felix has been known to play League of Legends and Genshin Impact. One iteration of Felix’s team in Genshin includes Baal, Ayaka, Bennett, and Qiqi. Now that seems like a solid team.

        11. ENHYPEN’s HeeSeung

Once on a V-Live, HeeSeung had said that “game is life.” Okay, maybe that’s paraphrasing, but every gamer would agree: game is life. He plays a variety of games ranging from League of Legends, Overwatch, Kartrider, Crazy Arcade, and Animal Crossing. He can even be seen playing LoL through his very own EN-loG on YouTube.

        12. SUPER JUNIOR’s HeeChul

This list would not be complete without the king of gaming himself. It is a well-known fact that HeeChul is a huge fan of games, particularly League of Legends (LoL). It is to the extent that he was even invited to be part of the analyst desk at professional LoL competitions and has participated in various show matches, alongside coaches and pro players alike. It has also been revealed that he has reached Diamond tier in LoL. Not only is HeeChul a top star, but he’s a top gamer too!
