The Mnet survival show "Boys Planet" has finally come to an end with the announcement of the final debuting boy group. The show had invited aspiring idols from all over the world (divided into Korean and Global divisions) to compete for a spot in a 9-member boy group that will perform on global stages.

The show is the male equivalent of the survival show "GIRLS PLANET 999" which had a similar concept but with a focus on Korean, Japanese, and Chinese trainees. The resulting girl group from the show is Kep1er, which has grabbed global attention with its addictive stage performances. This time was the boys' turn.

Kpopmap had previously written an article featuring some of the fan-favorite contestants from "Boys Planet". Kpopmap readers were able to vote for their favorite contestants on the show. Out of the 22 candidates who were covered in the article, 7 of them managed to make the final lineup.

As the show has come to an end, the final group and winners of the show have been announced. The group's name is ZEROBASEONE (also shortened to ZB1) and is set to debut in 2023.

1.  Meet the Members

Kim JiWoong

Birthday: December 14, 1998

Age: 24

Nationality: South Korean

Kim JiWoong is a former member of the boy group INX and is well-known as an actor for his roles in dramas like "Kissable Lips" and "Roommates of Poongduck 304". He will be the oldest member of the group.

 

Zhang Hao

Birthday: July 25, 2000

Age: 22

Nationality: Chinese

Zhang Hao has become the first foreign trainee to win first place on a Mnet survival show (considering shows like the "Produce" franchise, "I-LAND", and "GIRLS PLANET 999").

 

Sung HanBin

Birthday: June 13, 2001

Age: 21

Nationality: South Korean

 

Seok Matthew

Birthday: May 28, 2002

Age: 20

Nationality: Korean-Canadian

 

Kim TaeRae

Birthday: July 14, 2002

Age: 20

Nationality: South Korean

Han YuJin will be the maknae of the group.

 

2. The Group's Average Age

All of the ZB1 members were born in the 2000s, except for the oldest member Kim JiWoong who was born in 1998. The youngest member/maknae is Han YuJin and he was born in 2007. That means that the age gap between the oldest and youngest member is 9 years apart. As such, many fans have been curious about the average age of the group. As of Apr. 21, 2023, the group's average age is 19.7 years old.

 

3. The Group's Average Height

Fans have also been commenting on the height of the group members, as the majority of them are taller than 180cm. The tallest member of the group is Park GunWook at 184cm and the shortest member of the group is Seok Matthew at 170cm. If you take all of the members' heights into account, the average height of the ZB1 members is 179cm.

 

4. The Agencies That the Trainees Are From

Another interesting fact about the group is the way that their agency divisions work out. 4 of the trainees are from Yuehua Entertainment (Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim GyuVin, and Han YuJin), 1 is from Nest Management (Kim JiWoong), 1 from Studio GL1DE (Sung HanBin), 1 from MNH Entertainment (Seok Matthew), 1 originally from WAKEONE Entertainment (Kim TaeRae), and 1 from Jellyfish Entertainment (Park GunWook).
