        KBS

In the vast sea of incredible K-Dramas, KBS' "My Lovely Boxer" stands out as a diamond in the rough. It is headed by Lee SangYeob and Kim SoHye as its pivotal main leads. They are also joined by Park JiHwan, Ha SeungRi, WINNER's Jinu, Chae WonBin, and so much more. Their performance has been stunning so far, bringing their characters and the story to life right in front of our eyes.

"My Lovely Boxer" follows Lee KwonSook (Kim SoHye), a genius boxer who runs away from the sport. After earning a mountain of debt in place of his friend, Kim TaeYoung (Lee SangYeob) looks to bring back Lee KwonSook to the world of boxing.

On the outside, "My Lovely Boxer" presents the look and feel of a sports drama with a clear winner and loser waiting to be determined. However, even from the very first episode it proves to be more than that as its characters look for fulfillment and happiness in their competitively-driven lives.

While the drama is far from over, it has been a treat to watch for viewers across the globe. Here's a few ways "My Lovely Boxer" has provided encouragement and strength so far.

        Note: spoilers ahead!

        1. Kim TaeYoung And Kim HeeWon's Friendship

At the beginning of the series, Kim TaeYoung and Kim HeeWon's (Choi JaeWoong) relationship seems to be filled with friction. However, it doesn't take long for their longstanding friendship to persevere. They show an unbreakable bond as they support each other through various struggles. With determination in his eyes, Kim TaeYoung looks to support his hyung in any way possible, even if that means shouldering a burden of debt. Although not perfect, they portray an admirable friendship that anyone would want to possess.

        2. Heart-Fluttering Romance

In between the cathartic moments of comfort and peace are scenes of heartwarming romance. All her life, Lee KwonSook was laser-focused on the sport of boxing, trained to dominate her opponents in the ring. While this was impressive to many, the genius boxer always yearned for a life outside the sport, with hopes to live like a normal teenage girl.

Although she's preparing to return to boxing, KwonSook receives a taste of normal life with the help of Han JaeMin (Jinu). He showers her with sweet gestures and together, they go on various dates. Their chemistry sparks immense joy to our female lead and viewers at home. As she embarks on this new experience, there's a sense of validation that despite all her hardships, KwonSook is deserving of a love that she could only dream of. While their future is uncertain, the air of romance almost seems like it's here to stay.

        3. Value In The Little Things

"My Lovely Boxer" covers a variety of heavy topics. This includes physical abuse, life-threatening debt, sports betting, and so much more. There's an undeniable weight of burden that falls on various characters. However, one way it continues to provide encouragement and strength is by showing the value in the little things.

From interactions with a lovely elderly couple, the satisfying taste of doughnuts, and an impromptu dip into the ocean water, "My Lovely Boxer" presents these small moments that have a huge impact. Even when the rest of the world seems like a giant abyss, these little things have the ability to keep anyone grounded and ensure there's no chance of them floating away.

        4. Countless Examples Of Starting Again

        KBS

In the world of sports, there's a constant need to define the winning side and the defeated. While failure does sting, "My Lovely Boxer" does a great job in showing that losing is not the end of the road.

There are countless moments within the drama where its athletes trod upon a difficult path. Whether it's by their own will power or through the constant prodding of a sports agent like Kim TaeYoung, they're able to stand back on their feet and continue moving forward. The idea of starting again might be scary, but to make it possible one must put one foot in front of the other a million times over.

While set in the realm of sports, "My Lovely Boxer" serves as a source of encouragement to all and we cannot wait to see what happens next.
