Within the week, there are a countless number of K-Dramas that draw us in with every episode. They take us on a rollercoaster ride of adventure through a multitude of genres. They bring out feelings of therapeutic comfort and heart-racing excitement. Over the past few months, weekend drama "The Real Has Come!" has done just that and so much more.
The KBS show stars Baek JinHee, Ahn JaeHyun, Cha JooYoung, and Jung EuiJae. It depicts the story of Oh YeonDoo (Baek JinHee) and Gong TaeKyung (Ahn JaeHyun) as they come together to form a fake, contractual marriage. They go on with this ruse in order to happily live out their own lives. Although their relationship starts off rocky, they progress into a lovely couple that we cannot take our eyes off of.
While their lovely romance is one of the charms of "The Real Has Come!", the drama's family relationships have developed into something special. Look down below for some scenes that served as an example of strength within those family bonds.
Warning: spoilers ahead!
1. Gong TaeKyung Finds His Grandmother In Front Of His Clinic
For the most part, Gong TaeKyung and his grandmother, Eun GeumSil (Kang BooJa), have been at odds with one another. She despised her adopted grandson greatly and wasn't afraid to show it. However, with the addition of YeonDoo, their relationship slowly starts to transform and change for the better. One of the most important catalysts of change occurred when TaeKyung's grandmother lost her way and wandered around the city streets.
Both TaeKyung and YeonDoo look for her everywhere. When things started to look grim, he finally finds his grandmother, desperately calling out his name. TaeKyung finds her on the steps of a building that shares his name. Their heartfelt exchange and sighs of relief will tug on your heartstrings greatly, making you think back to your own precious grandmother.
2. Oh YeonDoo And Her Mother's Tearful Embrace
In order to have her child, YeonDoo goes into hiding, completely cutting off communication with her mother, Kang BongNim (Kim HyeOk), and the rest of her family. This leaves a big wound on their relationship, causing a bitterness to fester within Kang BongNim's heart. Even when they reunit, she effectively gives her daughter the cold shoulder.
It isn't until they meet at the hospital that Kang BongNim's rage subsides and brings her worried daughter into her loving arms. She welcomes YeonDoo into motherhood while bringing her into a tearful embrace. Seeing the two reconcile will bring tears to your eye, so as you watch this scene, it might be best to keep a box of tissues nearby.
3. An Overdue Apology
For a large portion of her life, Gong TaeKyung's mother, Lee InOk (Cha HwaYun), has suffered from the constant beratement from her mother-in-law and neglected by many of her children. What pushes her over the edge is Gong TaeKyung's refusal to be in any contact with her. This causes InOk to become cold and heartless, a side that surprised many.
However, despite InOk causing similar pain to YeonDoo, in true YeonDoo fashion, our female lead continues knocking on her future mother-in-law's heart. When Lee InOk goes away from home, YeonDoo organizes for the entire family to head to InOk's side and apologize for the years of mistreatment. What follows is a touching exchange that leaves the room moist with tears. Despite the tardiness, their apologies are happily accepted, allowing a sense of peace to overcome the household once more.
4. Long-Awaited Family Dinner
The moment Oh YeonDoo and Gong TaeKyung started their contract marriage, they faced countless resistance and opposition. However, with 40+ episodes in, the two have fallen in love and their family support is stronger than ever. The two families finally decide to come together and formally meet one another without any obstructions. After so much strife, seeing practically everyone gathered around the table is cathartic, overflowing with a sense of comfort and peace. It's an unenviably beautiful moment that will surely have you smiling from ear to ear.
5. Gong TaeKyung And Oh YeonDoo Register Their Marriage
Although there's still drama left to explore, Gong TaeKyung and Oh YeonDoo have finally come full circle. While in the beginning of the series, they had the intention of eventually breaking up, we see that they can no longer live without the other. With their mothers as witnesses, they finally register their marriage and officially become husband and wife. With the two families now joined together and the main leads so deeply in love, even we're filled with a swarm of butterflies circling around our chest.

Why watch?: Starting with the main actors' outstanding acting skills and the original plot of an adult entering high school again, it is a must-see. The drama is based on revenge, but it is actually more light, don't expect much on that side.
