After seven months, MAMAMOO+ has returned with their hotly anticipated comeback of their first EP "Act 1, Scene 1". Its tracks feature a sound that many fans are familiar with. Yet it still presents a fair number of twists and turns that makes the unit stand out. Of course, Solar and MoonByul bring their A game, exceling in both vocals and rap to create a standout EP that will surely see the replay button many times over.
With "Act 1, Scene 1" comes the title track 'GGBB', which also stands for "Good Girl Bad Boy", along with an accompanying music video. If you have yet to see it, you can check out the MV down below.
The song is unbelievably catchy, reminiscent of older pop-centric classics. Upon the EP's release, fans took to social media to express their love and admiration for MAMAMOO+ new music. Even we've had the song on constant repeat throughout the day, starting from early morning to late afternoon.
Here are a few things that we absolutely loved about 'GGBB'.
1. References To Older Songs

Starting from the tracklist, we were impressed with what seemed like a reference to their older song title track, 'gogobebe'. Whether it's intentional or not, it's a really nice nod to their roots as MAMAMOO members. It's as if Solar and MoonByul are acknowledging the group as a whole and that MAMAMOO+ is simply an extension of their identity as artists. There's also more obvious instances like lyrics referencing 'Mr. Ambiguous' within the first verse. Whether it's official or not, it makes for a really deep connection to fans who have been supporting MAMAMOO for such a long time.

Whether it's part of the main group, subunit, or even solo, MoonByul and Solar always find a way to surprise fans, offering the best viewing and listening experience. After getting used to the feel good sound of 'GGBB', they shift gears into a hype dance break. The transition is natural and smooth, leaving you speechless over their impressive talents. It almost makes you wish that there could be a full song made out of the dance break instrumental.

Whether you're watching the music video or just listening to the song on Spotify, the overall vibe of 'GGBB' is captivating. It makes you feel as if you're watching a full-fledged musical play out in just under 4 minutes. The cinematography and overarching theme definitely adds to this sentiment. Thinking about it, MAMAMOO+ could probably make an award-winning musical all on their own.
