Physical appearance is a very important subject in South Korea, especially when it comes to celebrities. They shouldn't have any skin problems and should look perfect all the time and, therefore, wear a lot of make-up. That is the original expectation we have when entering the K-Pop world, however, not all idols need makeup to look perfect. Many idols do have naturally fair and soft skin, sometimes with pretty freckles or birthmarks.

Fortunately, some idols do like to break the standards and show themselves bare-faced on camera. Until recently, many idols have been doing Vlives without wearing make-up, and the fans loved it. And even if Vlive is gone, we hope idols will continue to show us their perfect skin without makeup through other platforms in the future too.
