This week, we're diving deep into the lyrics of the blockbuster hit taking over the world, B.I's 'BTBT'. Even though it has been almost a month since its release, the unprecedented success of 'BTBT' is showing no signs of slowing down. As more and more people discover this gem and fall in love, one question remains: what does the song mean?

B.I takes a stylistic detour with 'BTBT', expanding his musical and visual horizons, transposing an intoxicating love song on a futuristic yet lonely landscape, mirroring his own duality. There's a distinct sense of rebellion and godly confidence in the narrative that suits B.I more than anything else and we love to see it. His voice is gloriously unique, as always, which amplifies the impact of the song.
B.I doesn't waste time with his confession, emphasizing the very palpable sensation of falling in love. One look, and there's electricity running down his spine, making him weak in the knees. "Biteulbiteul" is the Korean word for staggering in one's steps, indicating that they've lost their balance. In this context, the passion B.I feels for his newfound love is enough for him to abandon all control.

The world disappears when it is just the two of them, and even the moonlight seems to be urging them on. As literal as the lyrics are, it is hard not to see a connection between B.I and ID here. As is the case with most great art, regardless of the intended message, we cannot help but interpret and imbue the song with new meanings. As a matter of fact, this varying interpretation is exactly what gives life to the work. ID completes B.I and his lyrics make this clear as day. No matter what the future holds, as long as B.I has ID and vice versa, the possibilities are endless.
With years of experience in the industry, B.I has seen it all, but ID is more special than anything he could have ever imagined. He wants to be the truest version of himself for ID, which is why he is careful, slow, and steady, but he just can't hold back the excitement of returning their love with what he does best, music.
Outside of this analogy, B.I continues on his love-drunk serenade, encouraging his beloved to give in to their instincts without trying to rationalize it all. After all, even making mistakes becomes exciting when it is with your lover.
