You’ll see 8 female idols that could have easily been natural blondes.
Nessie, Staff WriterIt never gets old looking forward to an idol’s hairstyles and hair colours. Back in the prime of second generation K-Pop groups, an idol switching up their hairstyle or colour was considered the first spoiler for a group’s or a soloist’s comeback. It’s still a thing till today, as idols sometimes take extra care to hide their new locks under layers of beanies and caps to keep fans guessing what look their favourite idols would sport.
Female K-Pop idols have been experimenting with blonde hair for years. Among the numerous idols that have gone bright, there are the select few that really own the hair colour. Here, you’ll see 8 female idols that could have easily been natural blondes.
Two months ahead of her solo debut, NaYeon stunned ONCE with cool blonde locks. This apparently has been overdue, as fans have been anticipating a blonde NaYeon for years. The hair colour suits her so well, you wouldn’t be able to imagine her as a brunette any longer. The way the light tone of her locks complement her creamy skin tone is absolutely gorgeous, too.
JooE is known for breaking the internet with her hair colour changes. And why not? The idol is a stunningly beautiful human being that can pull off anything that touches her body. Whenever JooE goes blonde, it’s almost like she becomes extra charming. Blonde JooE is everything adorable, fun, bright and joyous, and Merries are always here for that.
SoMi has been fully blonde since her ‘DUMB DUMB’ comeback, and at this point, only blonde SoMi exists. Her brunette days gave her girl next door feels, but her blonde persona oozes charisma, edge and class. She pulls off the colour that well, and who knows? Maybe blonde SoMi was the lucky charm that made ‘DUMB DUMB’ and ‘XOXO’ even more successful.
Seeing as Winter debuted blonde, it’s a given that she’s on this list. While she’s experimented with other bolder colour mixes and hairstyles, she still believes that blonde is her calling. For the most recent aespa comeback ‘Girls’, Winter came with an entirely new blonde look that was just breathtaking. Her short blonde bob is everything powerful and sophisticated, so much that’s airport fashion pics look more expensive because of her new blonde do.
A lot of fans may not know that SeoYeon is a blonde veteran. She stays blonde for two comebacks in a row sometimes. SeoYeon’s short wavy light golden locks give her this fairy-like vibe, and her visuals aid in completing this look, too. Her soft blonde waves frame her face in an ethereal way, so much that you can’t ever unsee blonde SeoYeon even when she decides to dip her hair into the brunette world.
SooYoung chose to go blonde recently, and it’s like it was bound to happen sooner than later. Her golden blonde hair complements her skin so well, and the colour brightens her already fun and fresh personality. Fans only hope they can get to see her golden tresses for much longer.
Fans compared Bahiyyih to a Disney Princess because she effortlessly pulls off blonde hair. Kep1ians likened the idol to Aurora, explaining that her blonde do gives her a regal and gentle aura. It feels off to imagine her as a brunette even, because her blonde hair, which she’s had since their debut in January this year, seems like the hair colour she was born to have.
Another female idol that took the blonde route recently, though GaEul is no stranger to bright locks. GaEul’s brown-blonde ombre hair from IVE’s debut days last December served as a spoiler for the much cooler toned blonde locks she’s sporting now. Add a bold chop to the hair colour, and the blonde do is done. GaEul can’t look more stunning than she already does, and fans are hoping to see blonde GaEul for a long while.
What are your favourite female idols that own blonde hair on this list? What other female idols do you think should’ve made the list? Do share your thoughts!

In this article, you can find out about idols who have debuted in their 7th year and whether they have disbanded or not! Let's check!
Song, Kpopmap EditorFor idols, '7 Year Curse' means a 'crisis' they face in the 7th year since their debut.
This is because, most of the time, they are at a crossroads in their career because their exclusive contract will expire with their agency. Therefore, it is a key date for the groups as they will decide if they will continue (and if together) or not.
In Korea, according to Article 3, Paragraph 2 of the "Standardized Agreement for Pop Culture Artists", artists can notify the cancellation of their contract if the contract exceeds 7 years.
Numerous idol groups came through difficulties during this period, generally following the steps of 'disbanding' or 'reducing the group'. Some group or member take this opportunity to leave the agency where they debuted but do not leave/disband the group.
In this article, you can find out about idols who reach their 7th year since debut and whether they have disbanded or not!
Let's check the list below.
