3 Things We Loved About The Netflix K-Drama "Celebrity" And Why You Should Watch It If You Haven't Already

          Netflix

"Celebrity" is the latest Netflix K-Drama offering that international fans just can't get enough of. The drama tells the story of what it takes to rise to fame and to a position of having money and power. The story takes us on one woman's journey to being the top celebrity among the influencers and wealthy people of Korea.

Starring Park GyuYoung, CNBLUE's Kang MinHyuk, Lee ChungAh, Lee DongGun, Jeon HyoSung, and more, the drama was well-executed and had viewers on the edge of their seats.

So, here are 3 things we loved about the Netflix K-Drama "Celebrity" and why you should watch it if you haven't already.

          1. The compelling mix of entertainment and social commentary

Whilst "Celebrity" was extremely fun to watch and had a lot of entertaining moments, it also made a lot of social commentary. It covered topics like wealth gaps, power dynamics, educational gaps, and more. It also showed the dark sides behind the lives of the rich and famous, who are often the object of admiration.

For example, one of the scenes that stuck out to many viewers was of CNBLUE Kang MinHyuk's character, Han JunKyung, coming home and having his shoes taken off for him by a maid without disrupting his walking. Park GyuYoung's character, Seo ARi, can only stare at the happenings in front of her in shock.

JoonKyung later explains that, in his world, he can't just make changes to the things he doesn't like. If he does, someone may lose their job - which is why he can't question something like the method of removing his shoes, in question. It is something that he was raised to do and so he became accustomed to that way of life.

This scene was loaded as it showed the power that people with influence have and the impact that their actions and words have on working-class people, in more ways than one. It also commented on how wealth contributes to the social system.

          2. The star-studded cast and neverending celebrity cameos

Not only was the drama's lead and supporting cast star-studded with some of the best names in the industry, but the cameos were serving just as much glitz and glam in terms of casting!

Whilst watching the drama, just when you think you've seen a lifetime of top stars and popular celebrities for one K-Drama, the show surprises you and brings out yet another one! Until the final episode of the show, top Hallyu stars make guest appearances adding to the engaging storyline. These celebrities include names like Lee SangYun, Seor InA, (G)I-DLE's Yuqi, 2PM's JunHo, Kim JiHun, HOOK's Aiki, and more.

          3. The amazing chemistry between our lead characters

We can't forget to mention the palpable chemistry between Seo ARi and Han JunKyung. There was something about their moments on screen that had an underlying heart flutter even if it was a seemingly unromantic scene. That's how electric their chemistry was. Their romantic moments were heartwarming refreshers in the cutthroat world of celebrity.

In fact, they left us wanting more.
