Everything We Loved About ITZY's Latest Comeback 'Born To Be'

        JYP Entertainment

After 5 months, ITZY fans were excited to see the group's anticipated 8th mini album “Born To Be.” It was a pleasant surprise to see that the group has gone with a hardcore, girl-crush vibe for this recent comeback. With 10 energizing songs, the album combines EDM, Rock and Roll, and groovy melodies to showcase this new era of the girl's careers. Not only that, this is the first album that features solo songs from all five members.

Needless to say, ITZY outdid themselves with “Born To Be.” With 3 music videos, dance practices, and solos, this is set to be one of their most outstanding returns. Many amazing elements make this album stick out to us. We will explore this album and share everything that we love about this recent comeback. Here are our favorite things about “Born To Be” that show ITZY’s overflowing talent and passion.

MV Production That Feels Like A Movie

The production behind this recent comeback has been stellar. The group outdid themselves with remarkable visuals and impeccable cinematography. The music video for their title track 'Born To Be' opens up with a powerful intro as YeJi is backed up by dancers and starts the video off with a bang. As the members perform the hard-hitting EDM title track, the visuals of the MV stand out like an action movie. The camera work is impressive and the visuals of an erupting volcano show the girls' powerful enthusiasm. ITZY wants their newest album to express their confidence and power, something portrayed excellently in the music videos. Their music videos for 'Untouchable' and 'Mr.Vampire' didn't falter either in their visuals and storytelling.

Dance Practices That Showed Just How Powerful They Are

The dance practices for this comeback might be some of ITZY's strongest abilities and moves. ITZY showed off impressive routines in all their dance practices without ever breaking a sweat or losing their breath. Their intelligent use of group formations, tutting, and hip-hop-style dancing made the performance direction for this comeback remarkable. Each member leads with their strengths for different dance sections. The power of the dances matches the songs perfectly and shows how much the girls wanted to perfect the choreo for this comeback.

Solo Songs That Suited Every Member

By far the best thing about this album was finally allowing the members to have their solo songs. This is a first for the girl group. Fans were delighted to see that the current inactive member LiA already had recorded her solo and it was included in the album. YeJi's solo 'Crown On My Head' is a rock and roll track with confidence-laced lyrics. LiA's solo 'Blossom' hypnotizes us with her velvety vocals and sings about wanting to be her true self. RyuJin's rocking solo 'Run Away' talks about a broken relationship, accepting the bad guy role for ending it. ChaeRyeong's solo 'Mine' talks about finding that special someone, the person you've always waited for. YuNa's solo 'Yet, But' has an energetic, retro tone and shows off her popstar, 2000's vibes, much like her viral cover of 'U-Go Girl'.

Incorporating Charismatic And Tough Stylistic Choices

The outfits for this comeback suited not only the songs but the looks of each girl. Paired with Y2K fashion trends, leather boots, and the coolest accessories, ITZY tapped into some of their best looks for “Born To Be.” There was immense care taken into the styling choices for this comeback as every look suited each girl perfectly. To balance the girls' fashionable outfits, hair colors, sharp makeup, and dazzling accessories were incorporated into the looks as well. The retro-infused and dystopian styles included in the concept photos were by far our favorites!
