SBS / ChoCo Entertainment / tvN

The weekend has magically vanished and a new week has descended upon us. Admittedly, the beginning of the week can be one of our most difficult obstacles. Sometimes, not even multiple shots of expresso can help us on a Monday morning. But through K-Variety Round Up, we hope to provide the perfect serotonin boost to help alleviate those Monday blues!

Through this series, we focus on small happenings from various Korean variety shows that you might have missed over the past week/weekend. These clips might appear across social media feeds, but it can be difficult to watch absolutely everything, on top of tending to our busy schedules.

But that’s why Kpopmap is here to bring you the most heartwarming and entertaining clips right to the palm of your hand! Now, take a look down below for a little dose of happiness on this dreary Monday.

        1. "ChoCo in HOLLYWOOD" Starts

On May 12th, we saw the premiere of the Mnet M2 reality show, "ChoCo in HOLLYWOOD". The series follows the journey of upcoming K-Pop artist and leader of the 5th generation, ChoCo. The show documents their journey and how they're developed into full-fledged artists.

Their passion and drive to debut will give you goosebumps. Seeing how hungry they are to become an idol at such a young age will instill an ever burning fire inside of you. This week's obstacles will become a breeze as long as you keep the efforts of the ChoCo artists in your mind.

        2. Baby EunWoo And Ice Cream Bibimbap

Babies have the special ability to put a smile on our face no matter what they do. In this past episode of KBS' "Return of Superman", we see fencing superstar Kim JunHo and his son Kim EunWoo, visit legendary actress Ha JiWon.

Together, they eat yummy fruits covered in yogurt fondue. Ha JiWon later introduces them to her very own creation of ice cream bibimbap. She affectionately makes it for EunWoo and gets him to try the dish, however, EunWoo hilariously spits it back out. Receiving the ultimate blow, Ha JiWon falls back into her chair in defeat as Kim JunHo lets out a heartfelt chuckle.

        3. Kwon JinAh And Girls' Generation TaeYeon's Duet

tvN's "Amazing Saturday" provides an endless amount of laughter to its viewers on a weekly basis. However, the variety show also gives way to never before seen interactions between its fixed cast and guests.

This week, we see Girls' Generation TaeYeon and Kwon JinAh come together to sing a beautiful duet of TaeYeon's hit song, 'INVU'. Their voices create an enchanting harmony that pulls you into an unbreakable spell. Just one listen will provide peace, warmth, and relaxation all bundled up into one clip. You'll immediately feel reenergized and ready to take on the upcoming week.

        4. "No Math School Trip" Foot Volleyball

The 2nd week of May marked the final episode of SBS' "No Math School Trip". Although the variety show has reached its close, the castmates went out with a bang, providing joy and laughter to its viewers right until the very end.

We see the cast split up into two teams for a game of foot volleyball. They show spurts of competitive spirit to best one another, along with comedy sprinkled in between. There are numerous happenings like flags flying, Crush tripping over, and EXO's D.O. almost losing the ball that makes their match hilarious to watch. This final episode of "No Match School Trip" provides more than a single boost of serotonin to fight off the Monday blues.

        5. "Running Man" Cast Stunning Transformations

Since its inception, SBS' "Running Man" has been an innovator for Korean variety, continuing to receive love and support for over a decade. This past episode, we see the cast put on costume and make up to film another one of their hilarious skits.

Their transformations are iconic, ranging from Ji SeokJin as E.T. to Jeon SoMin as a lobster. Their heartfelt bickering along with their completed looks will have your stomach sore from laughing. There's certainly no better way to start off the week than with a smile on your face.

We hope with this edition of K-Variety Round Up, your Monday is filled with happiness and strength. Fighting!
