Show Your Passion For Korean Culture By Participating In The "K-Community Challenge"

The Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) is starting the "K-Community Challenge" this year. KOFICE is inviting all K-Communities (group of people who love a specific genre or entirely the Korean culture, who meet and do activities periodically) to learn Korean traditional arts online, and to share their own unique performance videos. There are 4 categories that interested parties can join for the "K-Community Challenge": Buchaechum (Korean Fan Dance), Minyo (Korean Folk Song), Taekwonmu (Taekwondo Dance), and Hanbok (Korean Traditional Clothing). The winning performers will be given a chance to perform with K-Pop stars BTOB (for Taekwonmu), LIGHTSUM (Minyo), and Weeekly (Buchaechum).

The registration period for the "K-Community Challenge" is from August 1 to September 12, 24:00 (KST). Here is how you can join the challenge:

STEP 1: Like and subscribe to the official "K-Community Festival" YouTube channel.

STEP 2: Select one genre out of the four options: Buchaechum (Korean Fan Dance), Minyo (Korean Folk Song), Taekwonmu (Taekwondo Dance), and Hanbok (Korean Traditional Clothing).

STEP 3: Download the official music of the selected genre (Except the “Hanbok” Genre).

STEP 4: Practice after watching the guides/tutorials and shoot the final video.

STEP 5: Upload the videos open to the public on YouTube with the required title and hashtags. (The Hanbok genre must shoot the video along with a background that matches the dress  and will be allowed to post freely on short format channels such as (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.). Please be sure to provide a link to your video when filling out the online application form.)

STEP 6: Apply online (Click “Apply” button at the bottom of the "K-Community Challenge" official website.)
