In the mysterious world of "Arthdal Chronicles”, Song JoongKi is acting two main characters EunSeom and SaYa. They are Igeuteu twin brothers with completely different lives, fashion, and personalities. Both are pitiful in their own lives.
In the middle of these two, there is Kim JiWon as TanYa who is a childhood friend of EunSeom and has feelings for him. Currently, she thinks he is dead and is the new maid of SaYa. She starts to get closer to him. This is a complex love triangle.

1- EunSeom, TanYa's childhood friend
EunSeom has a positive and vibrant personality - at least at the beginning. As a boy, he was brought by his mother to the Wahan people. She passed away at their arrival and he was raised by the Wahan people.
This is when he got close to TanYa. They had feelings for each other back in Iark.
In the first part of the drama, he proved that he was strong and dependable.

He even received the help from the divine horse.
EunSeom's heart is pure and his feelings for TanYa are genuine, that makes viewers root for him.
2- EunSeom, lost his mind
However, EunSeom is no longer the EunSeom viewers first met. Because of various incidents, he is losing his mind and his identity to the bad guys who enslaved him. TanYa is not his priority. He lost hope in everything.

3- SaYa, shows his love
SaYa is the Igeuteu twin brother of EunSeom. He was adopted by TaGon (Jang DongGun) when he was a baby. Since his young age, he is confined in a small room.
His character is very different from EunSeom. SaYa is a dark and mysterious character. He grew up alone in the middle of books since a young age. His knowledge is broad but he lacks social skills.

SaYa does not hesitate to confess his feelings for TanYa. He likes her and shows it to her. The man wants her to stay and does everything that makes her stay by his side.
His difficult past makes him looks pitiful and makes viewers root for him too.
4- Saya, scarily obsessive
However, SaYa is also not the perfect man. He is a dangerous man. The man does not hesitate to kill people for his own plans. It seems that his greed sees no limit - he can murder without blinking an eye.
SaYa is dangerous to surrounding people but also to TanYa. He once said, "You fooled me. Do you think I would believe in everything you say? Do you think you managed to fool me? ... I sincerely liked and wanted you but you used me. Did you want to take revenge on behalf of your dead friend? You're breathing right now because I like you. You're still alive because I want you." He is showing an obsessive and threatening attitude.
