GROOVL1N artists Ravi and Xydo hit the Copernicus Center’s stage in Chicago Sunday night (May 15) bringing high energy and an upbeat vibe. Studio PAV presented GROOVL1N’s very first U.S Tour giving fans an opportunity to see multiple artists under the South Korean record label GROOVL1N. The name GROOVL1N stems from an amalgamation of 'groove' and 'goblin' and is primarily a hip-hop music label founded by VIXX member and solo artist Ravi. GROOVL1N was created by Ravi back in 2019 and consists of Ravi, Cold Bay, Xydo, and nafla.

The tour itself had a rocky start when the original tour scheduled for March was postponed due to the pandemic. Once the new tour dates were released fans were met with the unfortunate news of two of the members having to back out due to personal reasons. Despite the tragic lack of Cold Bay and nafla the remaining two, Ravi and Xydo undeniably slayed that stage.

The show started with Xydo performing 'DRAWING' and smoothly transitioned into the rest of his setlist. Fans cheered and interacted while in-between songs, Xydo would chat and share comments on Chicago, proudly stating that the shirt he wore that night was purchased in the windy city itself. One thing to surely note was the amazing vocal range he was able to perform live. Xydo’s R&B style of music holds quite a few high notes that are beyond impressive, and it was a true privilege for fans to hear those notes in person. Songs like '#OOTD' and 'BETTING' had fans on their feet dancing and singing their hearts out. After each set Xydo would offer a smile and a good-mannered thank you to fans who cheered and danced along with him. Xydo’s stage presence was truly loveable and left fans smitten with not just his amazing music but his polite comments and smile.

One thing about his particular show was that it lacked flashy transitions or breaks throughout the setlist. Because of this when it was Ravi’s turn he simply replaced Xydo on stage and immediately broke into a fast-paced rap. Ravi performed the song 'GUNS' which had fans screaming along. Without outfit changes or specific choreography, the audience was able to simply enjoy the show for what it was, a pure expression of Ravi’s music. If anything, this gave a more personal and relaxed vibe where both fans and performers were able to just enjoy the music and time spent together. Ravi also performed songs like 'WARRIOR' and 'ROCKSTAR' that had the entire venue dancing along. Ravi had mentioned how thankful he was to be able to be in Chicago after not being able to make the original tour happen and expressed how much love and time went into his new album. Between songs and amazing dance moves, Ravi seemed to be having a blast which only doubled when Xydo joined him on stage to perform a handful of songs together.

Not having nafla and Cold Bay there to perform was an unfortunate setback but the two performers surely made the most of the situation. The extra time allowed fans to get to know Xydo and Ravi’s discography more and gave fans the opportunity to feel closer to the two artists present. While the crowd wasn’t too large, they sure were loud! Cheering and singing rang throughout the whole venue and when the show finally came to an end both Ravi and Xydo expressed their desire to come back to the windy city of Chicago once again.
