Many longtime K-Pop fans continue to fondly remember 2nd and 3rd generation idol groups. Even if they disband, their songs continue to remain iconic and are firmly cemented into the long, vibrant history of K-Pop. Luckily, in the past few years we've seen many older idol groups take the stage once more. These groups receive overflowing support, proving their long-lasting impact on the industry.

One of the most recent examples is legendary girl group KARA, who after six years returned as a full group. Their comeback was everything fans could ask for, providing trips of nostalgia while remaining relevant to music of today. They proved that despite the rise of the 4th generation, older K-Pop groups can still put on amazing performances. Their successful comeback has the K-Pop community thinking: who could possibly be next?

Here are some older K-Pop girl groups we'd love to see reunite and take the stage once again.

        1. SPICA

SPICA were constantly praised for their spectacular live vocals, with each member being able to hold their own and hit high notes with ease. Not only were they impressive singers, but their performances were upbeat and lively, making it difficult to remain still and unmoving while listening to their songs. Although they've moved onto different paths, pursuing work as a soloist or stepping into the world of acting, they've often shown their resilient friendship through social media posts. This alone gives fans hope that one day SPICA will return to the stage as a full group.

        2. Girl's Day

Girl's Day is currently on an indefinite hiatus, but you cannot deny that they exceeded expectations and were one of the hottest girl groups that debuted towards the end of the 2nd generation. They had everything from great vocals to bewitching performances, and released numerous hit songs that many still love today. Despite the members focusing on their solo careers, it was previously revealed that they still regularly meet up. Hopefully one day Girl's Day will decide to meet in a studio and give fans something like an album very soon.

        3. f(x)

f(x) were well known for their electropop-based sound and unique concepts, straying away from the usual image of cheery, bubblegum pop girl groups. They were able to make their mark domestically and in international markets, becoming the first K-Pop act to perform at SXSW in Austin, Texas. They continued their upward trend, snagging various music show wins and end-of-year awards. Although all members have left SM, they continue to fondly talk about one another. Some have even expressed that if the timing is right, they'd love to get back together. With this, many fans patiently wait for an f(x) reunion.

        4. Wonder Girls

Even before taking the world by storm with their iconic track 'Nobody', Wonder Girls were gaining traction as JYP Entertainment's hottest girl group. They were able to receive the attention of millions through their addictive tracks and easy to follow choreography. You couldn't help but dance along whenever a Wonder Girls song started to play. Although they have established solo careers, with two members even starting a family of their own, the memory of Wonder Girls lives on forever. Hopefully one day they will follow the footsteps of KARA and have all members join in to have a never-before-seen comeback stage.

        5. 2NE1

2NE1 are legends in the K-Pop scene, bringing overflowing charisma to every single one of their performances. They knew how to work the stage and have loads of fun while doing it. 2NE1 captivated an entire generation with numerous chart-topping hits and a discography that could last for hours. Even after their disbandment, many fans put their songs on repeat all day long. Although they reunited for a special performance at Coachella 2022, it felt like an appetizer to an even bigger meal. Many fans are still waiting for the main course which hopefully includes a comeback album filled with brand new songs.
