Let's get to know our boy crush, Ong SeongWu!

If you're new to Ong SeongWu, here's some basic information about him. Ong SeongWu was born on Aug. 25, 1995, and he has been proven to be a gem in the Korean entertainment industry since the beginning. Even his roots make him all the more special.
For example, his surname 'Ong' is an incredibly rare surname in Korea. This makes him the first Korean celebrity with that surname to debut. If that isn't indicative of his hidden-gem-like persona, then we don't know what is!
In 2017, he participated in "Produce 101 Season 2" as a trainee under Fantagio Entertainment.
During his time on the show, he especially became known for being one of the most handsome visuals on the show. Many couldn't get enough of his actor visuals and then when he started dancing, the deal was sealed for many more. Fans also grew to learn of his all-rounder abilities.
Luckily for K-Pop fans, Ong SeongWu finished in the top rankings, earning himself a spot in the final group, Wanna One. Wanna One made their debut in August of 2017, immediately earning a world of praise from the K-Pop world and its enthusiasts.
As a member of the group, Ong SeongWu earned kudos for his detailed performance skills, topped off with his diverse facial expressions and focused dance moves. Not to mention all of the hilarious moments where his personality shone on variety shows.

Wanna One disbanded in January of 2019. However, Ong SeongWu's career still continued to progress in the best way. He followed up by releasing music and expanding his filmography as an actor. He made his official solo debut in 2020, too.
Vocally, Ong SeongWu has always been known for his golden voice that sounds laced in sweet syrup. He is famous for his gorgeous vocal tone and strong vocal ability that will simply take your breath away. His voice also boasts great versatility regardless of the tempo or genre of the song.

As if he wasn't cool enough as an idol, Ong SeongWu never ceases to bring the talent. He is not just an idol, but also an idol-actor. Ong SeongWu is one of the idol-actors who is near and dear to the hearts of K-Drama fans. He is an award-winning actor for a reason and has impressed many with his roles so far.

His role as Choi JunWoo in "At Eighteen" (2019) proved to K-Drama lovers that he has an innate skill for emotional acting and character portrayals. His acting was not only praised by many fans, but his angry acting in the drama even went viral for how convincing it was.
He played Lee Soo in "More Than Friends" (2020) and once again wowed K-Drama viewers with his clear diction, distinguished nuance, and incredible facial expressions.
"Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?" (2021) was another of his renowned drama roles. He played the character Kang GoBi and showed off his passion and pure personality through his character.
These are only some of his iconic roles. Some of his others include in the K-Films "20th Century Girl", "Seoul Vibe", and "Life Is Beautiful". He has a number of excellent roles and appearances in various K-Dramas and K-Films that you should make sure to check out. Fans are especially looking forward to his upcoming role as Kang HeeShik in the spin-off of the hit K-Drama "Strong Woman Do BongSoon", "Strong Woman Kang NamSoon" coming to screens soon.
On top of his acting talent, Ong SeongWu has always been applauded for his beautiful visuals on top of his talent. In fact, an editor of the distinguished fashion magazine ELLE, once called his face, "A face with a narrative." The editor maintained that he is not just lovely to look at but his face also creates an indescribable number of feelings.

Although he is currently enlisted in the military, WELO are constantly thinking about him. We hope that Ong SeongWu will have a happy and healthy time in the military and a safe return, remembering that his fans adore him every day.
