The Polished Man campaign is a movement that encourages people to paint a single fingernail to raise awareness for violence against children. It's aimed to go a long way. As stated on their website, the painted nail is meant to spark conversations that inspire donations which allow for trauma recovery and trauma prevention for children around the world. The World Health Organization estimates that up to 1 billion children experience violence every year, which is half of the world's children.
Here are a few idols who have partaken in this campaign to represent the harrowing statistic with their fingernail and have chosen to use their massive platforms to help promote the honorable cause.
1. Bang YongGuk
Former B.A.P member Bang YongGuk hasn't quite said much about the campaign, but actions speak louder than words. He painted a nail which drove countless fans' curiosity to find the reason why he did so and lead them to research the Polished Man campaign.
2. iKON's Bobby
This wouldn't be a complete list of idols who have taken part in the Polished Man campaign without Bobby. After all, he's one of, if not, the first idol to take part in the campaign! The photo below was taken at the 2018 Korea Music Festival.
3. ATEEZ's HongJoong
HongJoong has been seen with only a pinky or ring fingernail painted on countless occasions, and he's been doing this for quite some time. In an interview with Allure, HongJoong said that before ATEEZ's debut, he noticed male idols such as former B.A.P member Bang YongGuk and iKON's Bobby painted only one nail in support of what he later learned was the Polished Man campaign. He then vowed to do the same as soon as he was given the platform to do so. Fortunately, becoming a K-Pop idol definitely gave him that platform.
Lucky for HongJoong, ATEEZ actually became 2020 ambassadors for the Polished Man campaign!

In a V Live, he's explained to ATINY that the purpose of the campaign is to "protect the little kids that grow up in worse environments than their friends" and to "raise awareness of such an issue". He's also stated that he was very grateful to become a Polished Man ambassador.
In 2020, their fans raised over a staggering $12,000 within a mere 24 hours. In total, ATINY raised nearly $30,000 in donations under ATEEZ's name!
4. CIX's SeungHun
While on FashionN's "Follow Me", the hostesses, soloist and former IZ*ONE member, EunBi, and "Single's Inferno" contestant FreeZia, asked about SeungHun's painted nail on his pinky finger. SeungHun used this as an opportunity to briefly introduce the Polished Man campaign to everyone on the show and its viewers!
If you take a close look at his fingers in this concept photo for their first album, you'll notice that he's got one of his pinky nails painted.
5. SF9's Yoo TaeYang
It wasn’t hard to catch, so fans noticed that only one of Yoo TaeYang's index finger’s nails was painted in an Instagram story post.
6. E'LAST's WonHyuk
In a Tweet, WonHyuk introduced the Polished Man campaign to ERLING. He also expressed his gratitude towards ATEEZ's HongJoong because he found out about the campaign thanks to him.

7. WonHo
Who says that big buff guys can't paint their nails? Or in this case, rather a nail.
Like ATEEZ, he's familiar with contributing to causes aimed at helping children. Sometimes, he can be seen wearing BVLGARI's Save the Children Necklace, which is sold for a whopping $620! Much of the proceeds go to Save the Children, a humanitarian aid organization for children.
