The latest Netflix film, having ranked as the 9th most popular film on Netflix worldwide at the time of release, taking the world by a gentle storm, "Sweet & Sour" starring Chae SooBin, Jang KiYong and Krystal Jung, also known as Jung SooJung, is a mixed bag of emotions that leaves you questioning where you, as a viewer, stand on the moral scale.

"Sweet & Sour" will mislead you into some troubling situations and unravel at the very end, which makes for an incredibly satisfying watch. The actors have all done a marvellous job at their characters, making us laugh and cry with them and love and hate them at the same time. The highlight of the film is undoubtedly going to be your own reaction to the narrative and with that said, here are 5 reasons why you should definitely watch "Sweet & Sour" on your next movie night!

        1. The chemistry

"Sweet & Sour" tells the story of Jang Hyeok and Jung DaEun, played by Jang KiYong and Chae SooBin respectively, who are in a long-term relationship. However, the sweetness of newfound love turns sour when after relocating to Seoul for work, Jang Hyeok finds himself swaying towards Han BoYeong, played by Krystal. What starts off as innocent rivalry, turns quickly to affection and finally, a blow to his loyalty towards DaEun. However, what is undeniable is Jang KiYong's chemistry with both Chae SooBin and Krystal. It is nearly impossible to pick one over another but you can't help but agree that both the female leads look equally good with Jang KiYong.

        2. The ambiguity

In order to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, the only thing we can say about the moral integrity of this film is that you'll never see the ending coming. The narrative and the storyline of the same are presented in such a seemingly convoluted yet realistically simple manner that once the film is over, you'll find yourself wanting to watch it all over again so as to experience the entire thing with a renewed sense of knowledge.

        3. The plot twist to end all plot twists

"Sweet & Sour" brings us the biggest plot twist we have seen, especially in a romantic film, in a very long time. It is incredibly clever and you can't help but feel like you got majorly played. Everything you think you know about the story will be turned upside down and you'll be left thinking about how judgemental you've been through the film.

        4. A satisfying ending

It is no spoiler at this point that the key event in the story is that Jang Hyeok cheats on his long-term girlfriend for the thrill of a short-term fling. No matter how dreamy Jang KiYong is, you'll find yourself rooting for Chae SooBin's character. Even though Krystal's character BoYeong knows that Jang Hyeok is in a relationship, she still tries to get closer to him. However, the burden of the blame can never be on her. This leaves us with a clear bad guy and with that in mind, the ending of this film could not have been more perfect!

        5. The realism

"Sweet & Sour" paints a vivid and clear picture of relationships, especially in today's day and age. The difficulties of a long-distance relationship, the slow but steady loss of freshness and excitement in a long-term relationship, the repercussions of straying, and truly loving oneself realistically, are some of the key themes in the film that an audience of any age can effortlessly relate with. The fact that it avoids any rainbows and sunshine makes it even more enriching to watch.
