As soon as she was introduced, it was revealed that she was a former national athlete. She played handball. Though we don't know much about her journey of becoming one, we can assume that she put a lot of effort into gaining that position. In episode 2, the writers rewind back to when she was young. She proudly called herself 'the national athlete daughter'. The tone confirmed that it brought joy to her.

Life throws her into turmoil when she looses her mother in an accident. The responsibility of the family falls onto her shoulders. Soon, her coach gets annoyed at how she often has to leave so as to take care of her family. He asks her to choose between her family and her career. Without a thought, she leaves the place. She knows what her priorities are and would not budge about anything, even if she takes to sacrifice herself.
2. She Will Do Anything To Achieve Her Goals
HaengSeon is an ambitious lady who cannot be put down easily. Once she sets her mind on something, she will do anything to get it. This is mostly related to her family. As discussed before, her goal was her family's wellbeing so she devoted herself to them. She continued at her mother's restaurant whilst also performing her duties as doing the guardian.

After her niece, HaeYi (Roh YoonSeo), requested to get enrolled in Choi ChiYeol's course. She immediately develops a plan to get the admission. She becomes determined to improve herself as a mother and pay closer attention to HaeYi's studies.
3. She Remains Cheery Despite All The Struggles
In order to take the role and to fulfill it properly, HaengSeon had to sacrifice herself. She gave up on her studies and even resigned from having a love life. Yet, she happily took the position and made it her happiness. Her joyous charm remained intact because she didn't let the struggles put her down.
Little things still give her happiness, like getting HaeYi enrolled. She held the paper close to her chest and walked in an absolutely adorable way. Likewise, when she begins to suspect that the mysterious customer might have feelings for her, her heart flutters. Even when she didn't plan on dating.
