One of the most daunting tasks in life might be making a sacrifice. No matter how big or small, sacrifices can feel like giving up a part of yourself or what you want. However, sometimes they are inevitable or a person doesn't have a choice but to make one.

In "Crash Course In Romance", Nam HaengSeon sacrifices her career as a national athlete to take care of her niece Nam HaeYi after she is abandoned by her mother (HaengSeon's sister). Despite giving up her initial dream, this leads her to open a side dish store that is quite popular in its neighborhood. She also finds contentment in the little things and little moments in life with her family members and best friend.

This goes to show that sacrifices can still lead to happiness, even if it is just in another form.

        2. The importance of speaking up for what you want

This drama teaches a valuable lesson about the importance of speaking up for what you want.

HaeYi grew up being considerate of her aunt HaengSeon (who is more like her mother) but sometimes not expressing what she wanted for the sake of it. As a high school student, despite desperately wanting to attend a private academy to better her studies, she tried her best not to mention expressing that desire. When she eventually mustered up the courage to, her mom got emotional at the sentiment of her hiding what she had wanted for so long. After she started the lessons at the private academy, not only did HaeYi become much happier but HaengSeon felt happier and proud of herself as a parent, too.

HaeYi taught us an important lesson in being vocal about what we want because it is vital to our happiness and might also be vital to the happiness of those around us.

This is until he discovers HaengSeon's side dish restaurant and her food which quickly becomes the most satisfying meal for him to eat. He slowly starts healing his body and relationship with food thanks to the power of a good meal.

Not only does this remind us of how healing food can be, but it shows how food can form a vital part of core memories that shape us as a person.
