Halloween is right around the corner and it's time to get into the spirit of things. What better way to do that than to sit down and watch a spooky movie or some science fiction? Especially since Halloween is time for make believe.

Korea does not traditionally celebrate Halloween but it has more than enough movies to watch during this season, too. We've compiled a list of Korean movies that might get you into the spirit of Halloween. Check them out.


1. "Parasite"

What it's about: A lower class family forms a parasitic bond to a wealthy family. It leads to an interesting fate.

Starring: Song KangHo, Choi WooSik, Park SoDam, etc.

Reason to watch: It is full of suspense and unexpected twists that will give you a chilling feeling as you wonder what happens next.


2. "Space Sweepers"

What it's about: It follows the story of a space junk collector ship that stumbles across a humanoid robot with a lethal purpose.

Starring: Song JoongKi, Kim TaeRi, Hae JinYoo, etc. 

Reason to watch: It takes place in space and features some amazing CGI that will make watching it feel like a real experience.


3. "Train To Busan"

What it's about: It documents a zombie outbreak that takes place on a train going to Busan from Seoul. Passengers are stuck trying to survive during the journey.

Starring: Gong Yoo, Jung YuMi, Ma DongSeok etc.

Reason to watch: Gong Yoo gets to play a heroic role that highlights his handsomeness whilst fighting off zombies.


4. "Okja"

What it's about: A young girl puts herself at risk to go against a company that might kidnap her friend, which happens to be a beast.

Starring: Ahn SeoHyun, Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, etc. 

Reason to watch: This story will broaden your imagination as you get to know a fascinating beast. The young girl will also help you return to a child-like lens.


5. "The Host"

What it's about: A monster arises from the Han River in Seoul, terrorizing citizens. One family tries to save her from it.

Starring: Song KangHo, Byun HeeBong, Park HaeIl, etc.

Reason to watch: Not only is the thought of this kind of incident occurring terrifying but the characters have you on the edge of your seat the entire time.
