It is quite common for K-Pop groups to establish their own alternate universes, in which their creative identities exist. These alternate universes set up the lore behind music videos and tell a story of their own. Oftentimes, these universes also affect their music lyrically, such as references to Kwangya in aespa's 'Next level' and so on.
One such K-Pop group that has one of the most interesting AU stories is LOONA. Here are 3 interesting facts about LOONAVERSE that you might not have known, especially if you're a new ORBIT!
1. The members live in LOONAVERSE
LOONAVERSE is a fictional universe that the members of LOONA inhabit. This universe exists on a möbius strip and is divided into three realms: the Earth, Middle Earth, and Edenism. On Earth, live the members of LOONA 1/3; Middle Earth is inhabited by LOONA ODD EYE CIRCLE and LOONA yyxy live in Edenism.
2. The 3 Core Units of LOONA have different characteristics

The members of LOONA 1/3 represent realistic human girls, who live like ordinary young people. The LOONA ODD EYE CIRCLE members are characterized by constantly changing and evolving sentiments and emotions. They represent action and initiative. Inhabitants of Edenism, LOONA yyxy, escape Edem to discover their true selves, without any restrictions or limits.
3. The eclipsing of the LOONA logo at the beginning of every LOONA video has a significance
According to a theory by Hidye1, the eclipsing of the LOONA logo at the beginning of every LOONA music video represents the timeline in the LOONAVERSE of which the music video is a part. In other words, when the moon is eclipsed from the right to the left, the music video tells us a story from the past. Similarly, when it is eclipsed from the left to the right, the story presented is from the future or the present.
