TXT (TOMORROW X TOGETHER) has quickly gained popularity both domestically and internationally since their debut in 2019. Most recently, the global superstars landed their first Billboard 200 No. 1 album with their latest release "The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION", and became the fifth South Korean artist in history to earn this achievement. They are also only the second South Korean artist in history to chart for two weeks within the Top 3 of Billboard 200.
On February 18th, 2023, TXT earned the “World Hallyu Star” award during the "2022 Circle Chart Music Awards". The "Circle Chart Music Awards", South Korea’s representative K-Pop awards ceremony, is based on the "Circle Chart" (previously known as, ‘Gaon Chart’), which tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in South Korea. It is produced by the Korea Music Content Association and sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Hallyu (한류), or “Korean Wave”, is a term first coined in the 1990s to refer to the global popularity and spread of South Korean culture, particularly its entertainment industry. Hallyu has, in more recent times, been driven by the rise of social media and digital platforms, which have made it easier for fans to discover and share South Korean content.
