This summer of 2023 has seen no drought of amazing, eye-catching shows that have graciously kept us company week after week. Whether it's a broadcasted television K-Drama or heart-fluttering web series, you can certainly find one to keep your eyes glued to the screen.
Among ENA's ever growing catalogue of smash hits is thriller suspense "Longing For You". The drama employs Na InWoo and Kim JiEun as two of the drama's most central characters. Within the cast there's also Kwon Yul, Bae JongOk, Lee KyuHan, Jung SangHoon, and the ever-so-talented Ren (Choi MinGi).
The story follows Oh JinSung (Na InWoo), a cheerful police officer, and his close friend, Go YoungJoo (Kim JiEun), a persistent prosecutor. Together, they join a special investigations team to unravel a serial murder case. However, as they work through the evidence, they are confronted by long-buried secrets from JinSung's own family.
In the few weeks that it's been airing, it has kept audiences at the edge of their seats as the numerous mysteries begin to unfold. The cast has done a wonderful job at bringing the story to life and helping viewers to feel like they have front row seats to the action.
Now, you don't have to take our word for it. Here are a few reasons why you should add "Longing For You" onto your watchlist!
1. Exploration Of Family Dynamics

Within the first few minutes of the drama, we are brought right into the thick of it. While wading in the waters of crime and mystery, we soon learn that there's more than a case waiting to be solved. "Longing For You" looks into the family dynamics between Oh JinSung, his brother, Oh JinWoo (Ren), and the hidden circumstances that lay in between.
While they start off amicable and kind-hearted, there seems to be more than meets the eye. The drama does a good job in causing its viewers to ask a multitude of different questions in order to find the truth. A thrilling case and family secrets are the perfect combination to raise your heartbeat as summer slowly comes to a close.
2. Main Leads With Strong Personalities
Both main leads in Oh JinSung and Go YoungJoo are distinctly unique characters who fiercely charge forward in search of the same culprit. Their commitment to duty is somewhat inspiring, but can also lead the two to allow their emotions to get the best of them. JinSung and YoungJoo's strong-willed persona leaves a huge impact on you from the very first scene. Their poise and charisma makes you want to stick right beside them until the very end.
3. Treasure Trove Of Mystery
There's action, suspense, thrills, and a whole lot of heart-pounding mystery. The drama does a good job in setting up its scenes in a way that makes audiences completely invested. "Longing For You" causes one to yearn for the truth to be uncovered and the main leads to finally come out victorious.
But as with most K-Dramas, the truth will not be easy to figure out, as there is a lot more clues to sort through and evidence to consider before arriving at its already highly anticipated conclusion. Along with the casts' amazing acting, the mystery aspect of the drama will surely keep you coming back week after week.
