Welcome to the seventh article of our weekly series "Boy Crush"! This series will appreciate the men in K-Pop and K-Dramas that we have a crush on based on anything from their style, talent, personality, overall vibe, etc.

Back to this week's feature! Let's get to know our crush, Lee DaeHwi!

Allure

Lee DaeHwi is famous as a member of the powerful boy group AB6IX. They are known for having a strong lineup of members who are all well-rounded artists. Lee DaeHwi is no exception to that. Many K-Pop fans also know him from his time on the Mnet survival show "Produce 101 Season 2" which resulted in him joining the final lineup for superstar boy group Wanna One which debuted in August 2017.

During "Produce 101 Season 2", Lee DaeHwi became famous for being the center of the season's theme song evaluation 'It's Me (Pick Me)'. He earned the nickname 'Blonde Fairy' from the way that he shined in the center.

Lee DaeHwi is currently active as a member of AB6IX, having debuted on May 22, 2019.

If you are new to Lee DaeHwi, you might not know some basic facts about him. He was born in Seoul, South Korea on January 29, 2001. He lived in Japan for a couple of years as a child, starting his life as a global citizen.

Lee DaeHwi later lived abroad in California for 6 years before moving back to Korea to be an idol and trained for about 2 years and 4 months before joining the survival show, "Produce 101 Season 2". He trained under JYP Entertainment before moving to Brand New Music.

Lee DaeHwi also attended the famous School of Performing Arts (SOPA) where many idols graduated from high school.

With years of experience under his belt, Lee DaeHwi is now known for being incredibly talented at singing, dancing, and even producing. Let's take a look at each talent.

His vocals are soulful and his vocal color can only be described as belonging solely to him. There is no one else who could duplicate his velvet vocals. He works consistently on his voice and is known to even use a machine that strengthens his diaphragm muscles so that he can show us just how powerful his vocals really are. Many have also praised him for his ability to put his special energy into a song.

Since his time on "Produce 101 Season 2", as a former member of Wanna One, and as a member of AB6IX, he has been praised for his clean dance lines and precise dance moves.  When it comes to dancing, there are not enough words to describe just how perfect his dance style is. He gives any and every genre his own unique touch and dances with a lot of attention to detail.

He has a huge amount of writing and composing credits (over 40 songs), proving his skills as a producer. He has worked on many songs while he was in Wanna One, and songs for other idols such as 'Young 20' by Park JiHoon and 'Airplane' by IZ*ONE, just to name a couple of tracks. He has also written many songs for AB6IX and his own songs such as 'In Your Eyes'. All of the mentioned songs and the rest of the songs in his writing and composing discography are bops worth listening to.

However, his talents don't just end there. With his lively and bright personality, Lee DaeHwi has a huge talent for variety and entertainment. He has been on a number of famous variety shows and was even an MC on "M Countdown" and for "KCON". He is currently the new exclusive MC for "Simply K-Pop CONTOUR".

Unfortunately, Lee DaeHwi's career and life have not always been easy and he has faced some struggles. However, he is completely admirable for how he deals with adversity and naysayers. Lee DaeHwi is an advocate for being yourself regardless of what other people say and stands firm in his identity. Fans can find strength in his affirming words, especially the ones embedded into his music.

His honesty and philosophical thoughts about his struggles, be it expressed through his words or lyrics, are some of his most endearing qualities that act as comfort for fans.

He once recalled a time when he was doing a photo shoot and had to blow on a dandelion and said that as the seeds were blowing away, he felt like they represented him. He put those feelings into AB6IX's song 'DANDELION' which expresses that despite something withering and flying away, it can actually represent a new beginning as those seeds will find their way into the ground and grow new life.

Additionally, Lee DaeHwi is also extremely intelligent. He can speak English, Japanese, Spanish, and of course Korean. We love a multilingual king!

I bet you didn't know that Lee DaeHwi is actually pronounced the same way as 'adorable'? We're only joking of course, but it's true that Lee DaeHwi and the concept of cuteness are synonymous. He is naturally cute and there are times when his aegyo just seems to come out like it's second nature. Many of his fans even describe him as a cute baby otter because they think he resembles one.

When asked in a recent interview if he thinks that he is cute, he answered that he only becomes cute because fans find him cute. He then jokingly revealed a secret that he is not cute at all but is actually sexy.

In fact, he is so lovable that he says if he wasn't an idol he would probably be a kindergarten teacher because babies and children like him so much. He is especially close with his niece which is proof of that.

We can't forget his other nickname 'Prince Lee' either. With visuals so handsome that he gets compared to top Hallyu actors, his good looks speak for themselves. He carries himself with a confident air that screams 'royal'.
