1. "Bloody Heart"

When: May 5, 2022

Cast: Lee Joon, Jang Hyuk, Kang HanNa

Summary: It is a historical, romance drama where as Lee Tae, the king who has to throw away his beloved woman to survive, and YooJung, who has to be a heavy fighter to survive, point swords at each other's necks.

Why watch?: Lee Joon's character will show polar opposite charms between the one of an absolute monarch fighting for survival and the one of a lover. There is no doubt that this character was made for him, and we can only look forward to watching his stellar acting on screen. From the first teaser, you can tell from his tone that he will portray this character with the depth and emotions needed. Lee Joon and Kang HanNa's chemistry and romance are definitely to look forward to.

2. "Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist"

Cast: Kim MinJae, Kim HyangGi, Kim SangKyung

Summary: It tells the story of a mental clinic in Joseon where patients and people around them can feel comfortable in the crazy world they live in.

Why watch?: A genius, a widow, and a geeky teacher: this sounds like a perfect trio for a historical drama that we can expect full of comedy and tragedy. The story of psychiatrists in Joseon is also a not-to-miss for those of you looking for something new.

3. "The Forbidden Marriage"

MBC

When: December 9, 2022

Cast: Kim YoungDae, Park JuHyun, Kim WooSeok

Summary: (Based on webtoon and web novel) “The Forbidden Marriage” is a delightful and exhilarating palace fraud drama about a marriage scammer who claims to be possessed by the spirit of the king’s late wife.

Why watch?: A king, bordering on crazy tyrant, who forbids people of his kingdom from getting married after losing his wife, and a scammer who pretends that she can be possesssed by the king's late wife. No one can tell how their story will unfold. We can only wonder how this will turn out into a romantic comedy. Also the cast is composed of two young and handsome actors pairing with one of the cutest rising actress Park JuHyun, all the still pictures are eyecandy. It will be their first time in a historical drama and fans can't wait to see. The last point to look forward is the lead female character which seems to be out of ordinary.

4. "Under The Queen's Umbrella"

When: October 15, 2022

Cast: Kim HyeSoo, Choi WonYoung, Moon SangMin, Chani

Summary: It is a black comedy historical fiction about the conflict inside the palace to make princes, who cause nothing but trouble for the royal family, into acceptable crown princes. The story is focused on Im HwaRyeong, the mother of the the troublemaker princes, whose life is full of trials but is able to withstand it all for the sake for her children.

Why watch?: For this fall, tvN prepared a dark comedy with an interesting casting. Veteran actress Kim HyeSoo is the lead with other well-loved veteran actors. Along with them, a lot of eye-candy rising/younger actors such as Moon SangMin, SF9's Chani, Yoo SeonHo, Yoon SangHyeon, and Kim MinKi are part of this project. We can't help be look forward to the story acted by all these actors.

BONUS: "Alchemy of Souls"

Important note: "Alchemy of Souls" is not a historical drama. It is complete fiction and is not set in any time of Korean history. However, this drama might interest fans of historical drama so we are adding it as a bonus.

When: June 18, 2022

Cast: Lee JaeWook, Jung SoMin, Hwang MinHyun, Shin SeungHo, Oh My Girl’s Arin, and more.

Summary: “Alchemy of Souls” is set in a great country that does not exist in history or on maps; a fantasy romance drama in which the protagonist's fates have been twisted due to magic.

Why watch?: It is a must-watch new style of Korean dramas with fantasy, action, and romance written by the famous Hong Sisters. The CGI, sets, fashion, and props are all beautiful, making this drama even more exciting to watch.
