The personalities of many male leads in many K-Dramas are set in such a way that would make you fall in love with them just like the female leads. With their winsome attributes and dreamy visuals, this goal is always met as many viewers often compliment how amazing the leads were and how much they admired them. However, there are some leads who unequivocally stand out from the rest due to their quirky and charming nature that makes everything they do an exaggerated sequence of comic relief and laughter.

"Oh, he's so extra!" Perhaps these words have been said many times by K-Drama fans while watching some of the male leads in a series. These words are perhaps always accompanied by a smile or bout of laughter, as many viewers are often put in a state of utter amusement and duly entertained by the silly antics and actions of these leads.

Across many genres, here are some of the male K-Drama leads whose personalities were so extra at times, but we loved them nonetheless.

        1. Jin MooHak - "Dali And Cocky Prince"

Is it his deep voice? His fashion sense? His confidence? Or his chaotic tiki-taka banter with the other characters? His iconic facial expressions and exaggerated reactions? His weird affixation for money? It is everything! Played by the amazing and talented Kim MinJae, Jin MooHak was truly the definition of EXTRA!

        2. An MinHyuk - "Strong Woman Do BongSoon"

Park HyungSik's character as the winsome CEO, An MinHyuk in "Strong Woman Do BongSoon" made him an instant favorite and an ideal type to many viewers, cute but yet still manly and protective even when he's the one who needed the protection. His soft charms and quirky personality were one of the key elements that made the series so popular, as his every scene and interaction was comical. From his facial expressions to his witty personality and humorous reactions, he elevated the wholesome feeling of the series, making it a truly entertaining drama.

        3. Lee YoungJun - "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim"

"AURA" This catchphrase perhaps still follows Park SeoJun as his character in the hit series "What Is Wrong With Secretary Kim" still remains one of his most loved and famous roles to date. A loveable narcissist, his character's personality and actions bordered on hilarious to chaotic as many of his reactions and interactions were funny and amusing to watch.

        4. King CheolJong - "Mr. Queen"

Kim JungHyun is known for his expressive comedic nature in many of his dramas. He might have been the dutiful King who tries to protect his people in "Mr. Queen" but his character still had its funny moments that made many fall in love with him. Especially with his interactions with Queen CheoRin (played by Shin HyeSun) the duality of his personality came to full frame in those moments as in said scenes, his actions were so extra, they had viewers rolling in laughter.

        5. Noh GoJin - "Crazy Love"

A common thread for many rich and smart K-Drama leads in a romance series, regardless of their backstories or subplots, is a level of quirkiness and weird traits that they possess. Traits that could border from crazy to super extra. And Kim JaeUck 's character in "Crazy Love" was super extra in many scenes. His hilarious beliefs and personality traits made him such a funny character to watch, even when he wasn't trying to be funny. There were several scenes where his actions and reactions were so out-of-the-box and unexpected but still served as a comic relief that no doubt, had many viewers in a constant state of laughter.

        6. SuYeol and K - "Bad And Crazy"

Lee DongWook's character as SuYeol might have been a strong-willed and ambitious detective seeking to rise in power but he also had a comedy and chaotic side as well. A nature that was no doubt spurred by the hilarious antics of the fist-first champion for justice, K (played by Wi HaJun). Their tiki-taka banter was one of the major highlights of the series as many viewers notably enjoyed their chaotic energies and their fiesty chemistry as well.

Which of these characters was the most extra? Are there any other ones that fit the descriptor? Let us know your opinion in the comments section below.
