        Every year, plenty of new idols debut and grace us with their skills that they worked hard on. There is no shortage of great new talent entering our lives each year and it is always such a joy to get to know each of them. As new idols debut, those who are the youngest in the industry keep changing.

        In September 2018, we published an article covering the youngest male idols in SM, JYP, and YG Entertainment active in Korea at that time.

        These three companies are referred to as ‘The Big 3’, a term encompassing the companies dominating the K-Pop scene. Over recent years, this term has changed to ‘The Big 4’ to include HYBE Corporation.

        As of February 2023, these are the youngest male idols active in Korea of the Big 4 companies.

         

        SM Entertainment - NCT’s JiSung

        Currently, the youngest male idol at SM Entertainment is NCT’s JiSung. JiSung was born on February 5, 2002. He made his debut in 2016 as a member of NCT DREAM at the age of 14 and later debuted as part of NCT U in 2020.

        In his early debut days, fans adored him for his cute, youthful visuals and his outstanding dance skills. Now at 21 (international age), he still maintains his cute visuals but has grown into a handsome young man and an even more amazing performer.

         

        JYP Entertainment - Xdinary Heroes’ JooYeon

        JYP’s current youngest male idol is Xdinary Heroes’ JooYeon. JooYeon is the main vocalist and bassist of the rock band and was born on September 12, 2002. Fans and non-fans alike are drawn to the 20-year-old for his insanely stable and emotional vocals and the duality of his on-stage and off-stage selves. On stage, he is a powerful and flawless performer but off stage, he is a dorky and lively character.

        The rest of the ‘02 line in Xdinary Heroes should receive a side mention too. GaOn was born on January 14, O.de was born on June 11, JunHan was born on August 18. Together they make up 4/6 of Xdinary Heroes.

        Born on February 18, 2005, So JungHwan of TREASURE is YG Entertainment’s youngest male idol. With his birthday coming up soon, he will be turning 18 years old (international age). JungHwan is the maknae and vocalist of the group which debuted on August 7, 2020. The handsome maknae constantly gains fans through his exquisite skills on stage and lovable personality.

         

        HYBE Corporation - ENHYPEN’s Ni-ki

        ENHYPEN’s maknae, Ni-ki, is the youngest idol in HYBE Corporation active in Korea. Born on December 9, 2005, he is 17 years old (international age). Ni-ki made his debut with ENHYPEN on November 30, 2020, a group that was formed on the survival program, "I-LAND". Fans love Ni-ki for his on-stage charisma and his flawless dance skills that he has developed since his childhood.

        Although these are the youngest male idols in the Big 4, there are plenty of much younger idols in the industry, both male and female. However, it goes without saying that age is no measure for talent in K-Pop. At their young ages, we can’t wait to see what these idols achieve in the future.
