If you're aware of what he's capable of, you probably find it hard to believe that JongSeob is the maknae of his group. Don’t be fooled by his cute looks, because he definitely contributes to P1Harmony’s monster-rookie status!
There are countless reasons as to why we believe that P1Harmony’s JongSeob is among the best maknaes in 4th generation, but we thought it’d be best to keep it short n’ sweet, so here are just 3 reasons why we think so!
1. His rapping ability
His flow, unique voice, lyrical genius— what’s there not to like? This should go without saying, but JongSeob is incredibly talented and is admired by P1eces for his astounding skills as a rapper. However, his debut with P1Harmony wasn’t his first appearance in the public eye. Back in 2017, the rapper competed on SBS' reality television show, "K-Pop Star 6: The Last Chance", which was the final season of the "K-Pop Star" series. He was on the show as a member of Boyfriend, a duo consisting of himself and Park HyunJin. Unsurprisingly, they won! What seriously shocked viewers though was their ages, especially JongSeob’s! At 12 years old, the rapping prodigy became the youngest winner in the entire K-Pop Star series!
"K-Pop Star" isn’t the only reality show that JongSeob has been on. After winning the show, he joined YG Entertainment as a trainee. You might remember seeing him as one of the many contestants on YG Entertainment’s "Treasure Box." He made it quite far, being eliminated in the second-to-last episode. After the show's end, he joined FNC Entertainment, and his fellow members are more than grateful that he debuted with P1Harmony and not in any other group. In a Christmas letter that JiUng wrote to him back in 2020, he expressed his gratefulness for JongSeob.

2. His songwriting
As we’ve previously mentioned, JongSeob was clearly gifted with songwriting ability, and it definitely deserves some attention. The young rapper enjoys writing his own lyrics. Currently, he’s tied with his fellow member InTak for being the member most-credited with the writing of their songs. At 16 years old, he’s also the youngest artist on the Korea Music Copyright Association, with 17 songs registered to his name! He’s also got his own song on P1Harmony’s SoundCloud. 3. His English-speaking
As a member of an immensely successful rookie group that has captured the attention of K-Pop fans around the world, knowing English could seriously prove to be useful. After all, P1Harmony is currently touring the United States! P1eces love listening to him speak English, and many have said that they’ve noticed improvements in his pronunciation and overall speaking ability.
In a V Live, he revealed that during his trainee days, his English name was Luke, but he now simply uses JongSeob as his English name as well.
