With that said, here are our picks for 5 SF9 songs that have the best lyrics, although in no particular order because feelings cannot be ranked. In this list, the Korean lyrics of the songs and their translated versions have been taken into account.
1. 'Shine Together'
'Shine Together' is a celebratory track for the 4th debut anniversary of SF9. Perhaps it might be because we can't help being biased towards this song because it is, after all, written for FANTASY, but the lyrics to this song are truly touching. While the entire song has numerous echoes of SF9's love for their fans and vice versa, this verse, in particular, is artfully well-written: "They say there’s a wall / Saying it’s the boundary between us / They say they set up a gap / In case you get hurt if I go too fast / Now I want to remain as a scent / That is deeply engraved in you / I’ll be a leaf that wraps around you / And bloom as a masterpiece..."
2. 'Just On My Way'
SF9 gives us the introvert anthem of our dreams with 'Just On My Way'. Being alone but not lonely never sounded this cool until SF9 came around to remind us that it is perfectly alright to take a break and recharge oneself emotionally by enjoying one's own company. Such a theme isn't usually touched upon and the lyrical beauty of this peppy track is undeniable. As translated by Goldenbear on "Lyrics Translate", these lyrics are truly uplifting, "The street I’m walking on / Is the beautiful Broadway / Hand on my waist / I’m confidently on a runway."
3. 'Believer'
'Believer' is one of the hardest-hitting SF9 songs ever. The sentimental import of the song weighs heavy on the listener's heart and it leaves an aftertaste that is hard to ignore. This is one of those songs whose lyrics alone are enough to lift you from despair, not by some high and mighty motivational lyrics but by those that are honest and easy to identify with. The strength of the song comes from its storytelling and there's no denying that we needed a song like this. As "Genius" translates it, "The light on the other side of the tunnel will protect me / Even the heart that had stopped / Can beat again and live again".
4. 'See U Tomorrow'
'See U Tomorrow' is the ultimate fighting song, in the sense that it has the power to lift one's spirits and give them just the impetus for them to keep going. After all, what could be more comforting than the artists you admire and respect the most telling you that you have nothing to fear in life and that you can achieve everything you wish for. These lyrics will always lift us up: "You are a diamond before being processed / It can hurt, it can be hard / I want to tell you, we're doing great."
5. 'Dear Fantasy'
Finally, this list would not be complete without the song near and dear to every FANTASY's heart, 'Dear Fantasy'. It sounds just like the theme song of a family sitcom and we can't help but gush over the emotions that it evokes. In addition, lyrics like "I’ve waited for today after wandering for a while / For a long time, I only wanted you / From your cotton candy eyes / From your sweet scent, love comes / Softly melting my heart" are adorable enough to make our hearts flutter."
