The idol world is full of diverse characters and fans love their unique personalities and traits. They could be the moodmaker of the group, the awkward and shy one or the confident fashionista. The same can be said for FNC Entertainment’s rock band, N.Flying.

In a group of four extroverts, guitarist Cha Hun is the only introvert. Seemingly, he is the cold and serious member who likes to keep to himself but there is more than meets the eye with Cha Hun. Once you start getting to know him, there is no going back from his charms.

From cats to cooking and comforting words, let’s look at what makes Cha Hun so charming.

1. A huge cat lover

Cha Hun’s love for cats is a huge aspect of who he is. He raises an adorable cat named Romang and his family raises plenty more cats too. His room in the N.Flying dorm is basically Romang’s room with most of the space being occupied by a cat wheel, a cat tower and other cat accessories. His all-encompassing love for Romang is evident in the way he boasts about her and shows affection.

On their “Weekly Idol” appearance in 2021, some of the members even said that they would like to live as Romang because Cha Hun cares for her very well and is not afraid to splash the cash on her. Even his own birthday presents are items for Romang.

In N.Flying’s early days, he was also spotted sleeping in a cat onesie.

Like many other idol groups, N.Flying have their own animal representative and it’s probably obvious that Cha Hun’s animal representative is a cat. He greatly resembles a cat and even his personality is like a cat’s; calm and chic at first but once he warms up to someone, he is open and energetic.

2. The chef of the group

A lot of K-Pop groups have a member who is the designated chef. In N.Flying, Cha Hun is the chef of the group alongside HweSeung.

Cha Hun began cooking when he was in middle school. His parents would come home tired from work and he thought it would be burdensome if they also had to prepare his meals after a long day so he began learning to cook for himself.

Usually, the chef of the group is also a foodie but surprisingly for someone who loves cooking and produces amazing dishes, Cha Hun is not a foodie himself. He doesn’t eat a lot or find much joy in eating. Instead, he finds joy in making something for the members to enjoy and making sure they are well fed.

It’s not just the N.Flying members he has cooked for either. Once, he brought some of his cooking for KiHyun and I.M of MONSTA X on their show. KiHyun and I.M were surprised at the calibre of Cha Hun’s cooking and commended him on how good it tasted.

3. Cold guy on the outside but a comforting, deep thinker on the inside

Compared to the rest of the band who are very energetic, Cha Hun has a very calm and quiet energy, making him seem cold on the outside. However, he is a deep thinker with comforting thoughts to offer.

During one V-Live, he was responding to fans’ concerns. To a fan who asked what they should do if they don’t love themselves, Cha Hun said that not loving yourself would be upsetting for the people who love you, whether that be your family, friends or even the N.Flying members. Not loving yourself or accepting their love and compliments means that the people who love you treasure someone who is nothing. He gained this perspective of self love on his birthday but he knows that loving yourself is not easy. However, he tries and wants his fans to try as well.

4. Learned to make (alcohol free) cocktails

Not only does Cha Hun know how to cook but he also recently learned how to make cocktails. The main reason behind learning the skill will melt your heart. He took on the skill because he wanted to make alcohol free cocktails for fellow member, DongSung, who cannot drink alcohol. N.Flying likes to gather for drinks but since DongSung cannot drink alcohol, he often drinks Cola or other fizzy drinks. However, Cha Hun didn’t want him to miss out on the joy of drinking so he learned how to make alcohol free cocktails for him.

5. His vocals

Although the official vocalists of the band are SeungHyub and HweSeung, Cha Hun also has an amazing singing voice that he has shown off here and there. Contrasting his chic vibe as a guitarist, his calm and soothing voice suits ballads.

He covered the full song of rock-ballad band Buzz’s infamous song, ‘Monologue’. He seemed a bit nervous at first as he doesn’t get many chances to sing in front of an audience but as he eased into the song, he revealed the soft charm of his vocals.

While showcasing his guitar skills during a V-Live, he sang the iconic ‘Wonderwall’ by British rock band, Oasis.

He briefly sang Park HyoShin’s ‘Wild Flower’ on their pre-debut show, “One Night Study”.

6. His dancing

Bands aren’t known for their dancing but who said they can’t have fun when they let loose and bust a few moves? It’s always so refreshing and entertaining to see Cha Hun take on dance challenges because he always tries his best to execute each move.
