        "Mental Coach Jegal" is a currently airing K-Drama and stars Jung Woo, Lee YouMi, Kwon Yul, and Park SeYoung. The tvN drama follows Je GalGil (played by Jung Woo), a former Taekwondo national team member, as he aids other athletes as a mental coach. He meets short-track speed skater Cha GaEul (played by Lee YouMi), a former gold medalist currently going through a slump. Together they tackle numerous hardships and overcome various struggles.

        The story very much has elements centered on the world of sports, the athletes involved, and the competitive drive to be the best. But it also highlights the struggles that come with being at the top and the importance of mental health. In many ways, competition is placed in the background as the tvN K-Drama spotlights the characters' healing journey.

        Throughout the drama, there are many moments that tug on your heartstrings, providing hope for healing and a better tomorrow. So let's take a look at some of these touching moments from "Mental Coach Jegal".

        1. Cha GaEul Acknowledges Her Fear

        With tears in her eyes, Cha GaEul admits that she is afraid of failure and the potential long-lasting damage to her injured leg. Fear can often render us immobile and unable to move forward. But Coach Jegal reminds us and GaEul the importance of acknowledging that fear. That is the first step to getting better and overcoming any obstacle. It's an impactful scene filled with emotion and relatability.

         

        2. Coach Jegal's Advice

        Despite landing a spot on the national team for short-track skating, GaEul continues to face numerous hardships. Soon, she will once again have to fight for her spot on the team. She likens it to a game of musical chairs. Coach Jegal tells GaEul not to focus on the chair's positions, but on the chair right in front of her. This serves as a heartfelt reminder to focus on the present and what's in front of us.

         

        3. Cha GaEul Asks For Help

        At first, Cha GaEul was closed off and had always decided to stand on her own two feet. But this scene is a turning point for GaEul as she willing runs to Coach Jegal, admits that she is not strong, and pleads for help. It's a touching moment to see such character development. Now, there's a beacon of hope that she does not need to struggle on her own and has a support system to fall back on. The scene is raw, sincere, and hits all the right emotions, adding much more depth to this already wonderful drama.

         

        4. A Sincere Heart To Heart

        Since their falling out, Lee MuGyeol (played by Moon YooKang) and Cha GaEul's relationship has been rocky, as the two never truly had a chance to reconcile. However, after reuniting at the athletes' village, they slowly began to open up to each other once again. Then, this heart to heart happens between the two. It's refreshing and warmhearted as the two athletes find solace in each other's company and talk about their innermost feelings.

         

        5. No Medal Band Performance

        Often times, music can hold inexplainable healing properties. The right song or melody can make anyone feel better almost instantly. "Mental Coach Jegal" shows this perfectly. The archery team, along with Cha GaEul and Lee MuGyeol, becomes emotional after meditating on their goals and unexpected hardships. As tears fall around the circle, the No Medal Band makes an appearance to lift their spirits. They successfully do so, washing away all worries with the power of music.
