Popular Webtoon "Seasons Of Blossom" Gets A K-Drama Adaptation: Here's Everything You Need To Know About The Cast, Their Characters & More

The upward momentum of webtoon-based K-Dramas has officially reached a peak in 2022. Just in the first half of the year, there have been numerous successful adaptations with even more announced and confirmed for production. The K-Drama adaptation of the internationally popular, highly-rated, omnibus-style youth romance webtoon "Seasons of Blossom" was first announced in 2021. After months of waiting, the casting and release schedules have officially been confirmed. Helmed by Studio Playlist in collaboration with Jaedam and Copus Korea, the K-Drama adaptation will have a total runtime of 300 minutes with episodes of 30 to 40 minutes each. The drama is slated to air in September, 2022.

Originally by HONGDUCK and NEMONE, "Seasons of Blossom" tells the story of young high school students on the verge of adulthood who navigate the complicated climate of love and loss at the tender age of eighteen. It epitomizes the beauty of youth, complete with all its chaos and colour, highlighting true growth and maturity through hardships and inner struggles. The original webtoon is divided into several seasons but the K-Drama will only feature the first two - "BoMi's Flower" and "HaMin's Flower". You can read the webtoon in Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, and Spanish.

1. Yoon BoMi - Kang HyeWon

Symbolizing spring and represented by the colour pink, BoMi is the central protagonist of "BoMi's Flower". She is kind, popular, good-looking, and outgoing. Her gentle demeanor and academic excellence are some of her merits. Her MBTI is ENFJ. She has a crush on Lee JaeMin but when she discovers that her best friend also likes him, she pretends to date Choi JinYeong. While she has no romantic interest in JinYeong at first, she gradually grows fond of him. Yoon BoMi will be played by Kang HyeWon.

2. Choi JinYeong - Yoon HyunSoo

Choi JinYeong is the male lead in "BoMi's Flower". The most striking thing about JinYeong is his visuals but despite them, he remains quiet and reserved for the most part. He studies well and is an amazing gamer, which makes him popular among male students. JinYeong's MBTI is ISTJ. JinYeong enters into a fake dating situation with BoMi but soon falls in love with her. Choi JinYeong will be played by Yoon HyunSoo.

3. Lee JaeMin- Kim Minkyu

Lee JaeMin is the second male lead in "BoMi's Flower". His MBTI is ENFP. He resembles his older brother Lee HaMin. JaeMin is one of the most complex characters in the webtoon and faces painful trauma from his past. JaeMin is very tall and has a bright personality on the surface but is suffering from deep loneliness inside. He maintains an amiable relationship with BoMi and wants to be friends with JinYeong. Lee JaeMin will be played by Kim MinKyu.

4. Lee HaMin- Seo JiHoon

Lee HaMin is the central protagonist of "HaMin's Flower". He represents summer in "Seasons of Blossom", denoted with green. He is also tall but JaeMin is taller than him. He has a close relationship with Han SoMang based on their common interest in art. However, they later drift apart, which piles on to HaMin's academic stress and drives him to extreme loneliness. Even though HaMin is a kind and warm person, he believes himself to be worthless and dark inside. Lee HaMin will be played by Seo JiHoon.

5. Han SoMang- So JooYeon

Han SoMang is the female lead in "HaMin's Flower". She is shy and clumsy but enjoys painting. She is HaMin's dear friend. As a matter of fact, HaMin was one of her first friends in school. The two shared secrets and got closer together. The art room is where SoMang and HaMin first became friends and as such, it holds great importance in their relationship. Later in the story, SoMang meets JaeMin and is surprised to see his resemblance with HaMin.
