Here are but a few things "My Perfect Stranger" teaches us about family.

        1. The History Of Parents

4 Lessons On Family From Thrilling Mystery K-Drama "My Perfect Stranger"

        KBS

Growing up, we travel along with our parents as they navigate adulthood and try their best to become our guide through life. They naturally transform into these larger than life role models that we look up to on a daily basis. While they might be painted as these indestructible superheroes, "My Perfect Stranger" reminds us of one important fact: our parents were young once too.

They experienced adolescence and were wide-eyed dreamers, ready to take on whatever obstacles the world decided to give them. Our main characters, most especially Baek YoonYoung, are made to reflect on this idea and accept that their parents led a vastly different life before having a child. This realization brings awareness to the history of parents and how they're also people, just like their child that came after them.

        2. Depth Of Family Bonds

After a while, we go out into the world to find a job and live on our own. However, regardless of how far we travel and what we might do, the depth of family bonds is endless and we remain connected to them for all time. The bonds of a family are especially highlighted between brothers Baek HeeSeob (Lee WonJung) and Baek YooSeob (Hong SeungAn) as they fight to protect one another. Even at the cost of his own safety and well-being, HeeSeob jumps straight into danger to ensure no more harm befalls YooSeob. The weight of familial bonds is heavy, but something we naturally develop over the course of life. These bonds help to ensure our safety and lead us to an always present support system.

        3. A Mother's Warmth

Some things in life are absolutely timeless, standing strong in the past, present, and future. One of these eternal aspects that we witness in the KBS drama is a mother's warmth. Both the older and younger version of YoonYoung's mother is extremely caring and has nothing but kindness within her heart. The same can be said about multiple mothers within the series, cooking their children's favorite meals, providing them with pocket money, and having the occasional heart to heart. Through "My Perfect Stranger" we are reminded once again of the strength and abundance of love that mother's never fail to give.

        4. Cherish Every Moment

"My Perfect Stranger" is heavy on the mystery and thriller genre, raising heartrates every week. However, the tenderness of family is unmatched as the drama also teaches us to cherish every moment with our loved ones. We're reminded early on that time is limited and we never know just when that last moment will be. The drama emphasizes the importance of making our time spent with family count so that we don't end up being filled with regret in the future.

"My Perfect Stranger" exploration on the themes of family make it an absolute must watch. Are you keeping up with "My Perfect Stranger"? How do you like the drama so far? Let us know in the comments!
