        "Shadow Beauty" is a web drama that has had everyone on the edge of their seats. If you are watching this drama, it is likely that you've had at least one moment when your whole body froze or you were holding your breath due to the suspenseful plot. 

        The drama tells the story of Koo AeJin (played by Shim DalGi), who is a high school girl who gets bullied and lives a double life outside of the classroom. Outside of school, she is a gorgeous influencer called Genie on social media (played by fromis_9's Lee NaGyung - who also plays the character Seon MiJin). The drama also stars Golden Child's BoMin (who plays the character Kim HoIn) and PENTAGON's HoSeok (who plays the character Lee JinSeong).

        Although the whole cast is exceptionally talented, Golden Child BoMin's acting has especially stood out. He has proven once again that he is a convincing actor capable of portraying a character's depth and emotions.

        From the moment he explained how he found out about Koo AeJin's secret identity to the way he reacted towards her fear, BoMin pulled this scene off excellently. He took us through a cycle of emotions as Kim HoIn. The way that he found the situation funny and the tone of his laugh felt twisted in a sense.

        His smug smile and the way it contradicts how gently he handled his interaction with Koo AeJin, despite having the upper hand, prove that BoMin is capable of portraying conflicting emotions simultaneously.

        2. When he was being an awful boyfriend to Yang HaNeul

        The way that Kim HoIn's character treated Yang HaNeul had the audience's blood boiling. Yes, Kim HoIn had already established himself as a guy with bad intentions but his coldness and insincerity towards Yang HaNeul took it to another level.

        It is amazing that BoMin could pull off the role of someone with such rotten character when his fans know him as one of the best boys. He made us love to hate him on screen, but simultaneously marvel at his compelling acting and talent. This role has proven over and over again that BoMin is a true king of versatility. 

         

        3. Each time he logically explains something

        Kim HoIn has a very chilling way of explaining and deducing things. His tone of voice is always calm, his explanation follows step-by-step logic, and he seems like he is calculating the reason behind every word and motive. Listening to BoMin's deductive reasoning is simultaneously unwinding but captivating. You can't stop listening to what he has to say but there's a creepy feeling that whatever follows his conclusion will be a big deal. 

        This intriguing scene where BoMin deciphers Seon MiJin's ulterior motives is one of the many perfect examples.

        4. When he showed his vulnerability and told the story of his childhood

         

        When we found out that Kim HoIn tried to end his life and he shared his dark family history, his vulnerability was palpable. He revealed conflicting emotions that created his current persona.

        It explained a lot about why he behaves the way that he does and created a new layer of depth to his character. BoMin portrayed this so well that it felt real. When Kim HoIn shed tears, our hearts cried with him and felt his pain. 

         

        BoMin does exceptionally well at playing such an intense and complex character. Despite his bright idol persona, he has done well in playing the role of a bad guy with a vulnerable side. His emotional acting was top-class and he proved himself again as an idol actor that people should watch out for as he is destined for a dazzling acting career.
